Are you a picky eater?

Here's a quick quiz that determines how pick of an eater you are:
http://www.buzzfeed.com/robinedds/ho...-eater-are-you

There were 14 things I don't eat...but I could have scored 100X for asparagus alone. I HATE that stuff and wouldn't/couldn't eat it even if I were starving.

There were only two items on that list that I have not eaten.

I hate hummus - but hey when I'm hungry ill eat just about anything.

Half right. More garlic along with no asparagus.

Kidneys - not with your mouth!

Taramasalata and Marmite, I have never heard the words, before. That said, I would probably eat them, as long as they don't bite back.

Everything else on that list is just another day at the office. :-)

      Cheers. - Frank

P.S. After looking up Taramasalata and Marmite, I can safely say that these are two more things I would not eat with someone else's mouth. Probably the reason I never heard of them before, in spite of owning two restaurants, is that no one has ever hated me enough to place them in front of me.

I've tried Marmite before, I'd eat ground up earth worms and dirt before I'd eat Marmite again. I'd buy Taramasalata and use it for Steelhead bait and then eat the Steelhead.

Marmite (yeast extract spread) is the best thing since sliced bread and goes on sliced bread or toast with butter (sometimes cut into strips, called soldiers Then dipped in soft boiled eggs.) Sometimes I use it to flavour stews.

I was brought up on the stuff, love it. I suppose the nearest description is a thick meaty dark brown gravy made into a spread, (different texture though) only it's more sharp in flavour and salty. You can get it in the US but it's expensive, however it's a UK food that is a must have. I know someone who goes to the UK twice a year and they always bring me back 2 large jars.

You either will love it or hate it. It is enriched with vitamins so a great food for vegetarians or vegans.

The Australian version, vegemite I have tried, not nearly as good.

That's part of it. I grew up eating things like Tripe, Calves brain, calves liver and tongue among other things. All things you have to acquire a taste for. When I was in college for Culinary Arts we revisited those foods and many others like the Marmite and even blood pudding. The Marmite just tasted disgusting to me. Something else I ate that I thought was disgusting and it's the only Fungus I won't eat is Truffles.

I love tripe. I'm from Philly where Pepper Pot soup is a local, long-time favorite. Not the Campbell's Soup kind, though. :-)

Only tourists that go to Pat's or Geno's (both suck unless you like horse meat with gristle) and Philadelphians with no palate eat Cheez Whiz. First off - it ain't cheese. Next, it taste like someone took a whiz on your sammy!

It's white American or provolone. That's how it's done. Cheez Whiz. That's just so wrong. lol

An Internet friend of mine invited me down to Philly years ago to visit him and his family. His sister made Pepper Pot Soup one night and Philly Cheese Steaks the next. Both nights I ate standing in the kitchen so I was close for seconds (and thirds and fourths).
I'll eat brains, kidneys and tongue if I have to. Liver on the other hand I could eat 7 days a week. Back when I was a kid Offals was the cheapest parts of an animal you could get at the butchers so I got to eat them a lot.

I had to look up both of those. I'd give Taramasalata a try. My mother used to cook shad roe, and we all loved it, so there's a chance that I would like Taramasalata.

Marmite sounds altogether less appealing. I'd probably dip my finger in and take a tiny taste, but I don't like brewers yeast, so it seems likely I would not like it.

The majority of the things in that list that I don't eat, I just never even heard of so I might eat it if someone served it to me. I know I'd try it to see if I liked it.

You don't eat 10 out of 87 things on this list!

You’re definitely NOT a picky eater. Whatever the size, shape, smell, or texture; if it’s food, you’ll put it in your mouth. You probably look down your nose at anyone who IS a picky eater, but look on the bright side — you can eat anything they don’t finish!

There were only a few things on the list that I won't eat - I'm allergic to anything fish (okay with shellfish, though) so can't eat them, and I don't like pickled eggs.

Basically, if it doesn't give me hives or put me into emergency rooms in anaphylaxis or if it doesn't move quick enough to get out of my way --- it's food.

They didn't ask the real trick questions on my diet agenda - is it factory farmed or sprayed with pesticides? I won't eat any of it that is, but give me organic and just about anything is game for the dinner plate.

That's a waste of perfectly good blue cheese. Give me a Rib Eye and you can keep your stuffed shirt, flavorless filet.

Agreed. Rib Eye is the only steak I eat, but I have never seen one polluted with blue cheese, where I see it often on filet mignon.

You see that on filet because it needs some fat for flavor.

I make a garlic blue cheese sauce that I put on lesser cuts, like sirloin, which, God bless her, my wife prefers. I certainly wouldn't put it on a Rib Eye, though. For those, just a heavy dose of kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper. If I have more time, I'll go full on Steak au Poivre. The sauce is a nice change of pace.

I'm a bit dissapointed with that list, nothing unusual there. I grew up with "Stippgrütze" and I still love it, it's heart, liver, kidney and barley groat. Then I really like rumen soup, you get that at a lot of the Turkish restaurants here in Berlin, though they look a bit surprised if you order it as a German. And a late favourite of mine is dulet, an ethiopian dish with tripe, kidney, liver and chilli peppers, pretty much raw, just a little clarified butter over it.

there were only 6 things on the list I won't eat so I guess that means I'm not a picky eater really

my mother used to make the most delicious steak and kidney pie - but I used to gag while the kidneys were cooking - so I would never cook it myself - but I would eat it again.

Liver - yuk, double yuk - just never liked it - something about the texture of it turns me off.
        same with tofu

vinegar makes me gag, but if it's in something like a salad dressing - I can handle it. It's the smell more than the taste that gets to me.

Marmite -does not appeal to me whatsoever -

blue cheese also makes me gag - ewwwwww

and pickled eggs - just no -again I think it's the smell - I have such a sensitive nose.
