New Zealand will soon be voting for a new national flag.
Which one do you like?

I like number 2. The Red Peak.
You can read more info about the flags here.

I think #3 takes us into the future! Very unique and will most certainly stand out.

Yes. Number 3 The Koru, is probably my second choice.

I do like the silver ferns too, but don't like the fern designs in these flags. I prefer the NZ Rugby silver fern.

Yep. I feel the same way when they talk of changing our flag.

Although I have heard from my Kiwi friends that a change is quite popular over there. Is that not right?

if popularity is one in three for changing the flag, then yes

Just consider yourself lucky you live in a place peaceful enough that flag style is the main issue right now.

I also like the one on the far right - I think a country's flag should be a bit 'fancy' and the colors and design stand out for me.

Far right. Black doesn't seem right on a flag. It seems negative, like someone died.

    #2 or #5

#1 is okay compared to #5 but it plays off psychology less.

Blue is water, Red is Food, Black is nothing. Extremely simple subconscious signals.

If I had to predict a vote, I'd say 5.

3 is cool but I don't see a diverse population voting for it, unless the population is less diverse then I think it is.

You are aware that the vote on this has taken place and the Kiwis decided not to change it after all, aren't you?

Don't worry about it. No-one else pays any attention to what goes on in New Zealand either.

I'm not going to lie, I know for a fact I was taught this in school at some point in time and I actually was very interested in geography and did pretty good on the tests but... I actually had too look up where New Zealand was on a map.

I just never hear about New Zealand, ever. I see traffic in my logs, but it just seems like even less things happen there then Canada.

I know there's people there, but I never hear about what they do or what's going on, must be a pretty nice place to live.

Judging from the map looking at the latitude, so if Kentucky was an island, and it was on the other side of equator, it would be New Zealand. Kentucky the island, other the other side of the earth, with volcanoes. Got it.

    A lesson in posting:

This thread is from months ago....the vote has taken place....NZ kept the same flag rather than change....

Had the last few people posting READ the thread...they would know that....just sayin'

Down here in the OT section we chuckle at you - if you post like that upstairs people will call you on it.
