Oh sweet thing, ur so cute.

Who knew bats did that?

I figured they jus' flew around lookin' spooky, all kinda flappo.

She is not a well bat, but she is not flappo.

I am reminded of the cat sanctuary I saw in Rome.

They got ruins there, all over.

An' in one part of town there are stones knit up with tufts of grass, down in the hollow between the old world an' the new, where it is kinda Abandoned Cat Central.

Hoomans can't step out into the history there, but alla the cats can.

Buncha real sick ole felines, tellya.

Some get cared for an' homed, some get to be sick, an' unwanted, an' dead, walkin' as forgotten strays over ground so hallowed historical no hoomans there can set foot on it.

If ur a cat an' ur a stray an' ur gonna die, this gotta be the place to go.

No people, justa buncha solitude.

Man. this bat got me worse than Taggo's stoopid kittens.

It's a bat. lol. Wikipedia says:
The large flying fox is among the largest species of bat.

They eat fruit, so they are a fruit bat. Adorable when babies, but I like them grown too. We have bats here. Go out in the yard at night and they quietly swish above your head and you see a fast black shadow flying over your head. I like them.

So cute! I like bats, too. Used to love to watch them when I was a kid - you'd see them coming out of the hay door at the top of the old barn. They were shadows coming out just at dusk and fascinated me.

Wonder what happens if you remove the nipple from the baby's mouth - does it cry...or bite your finger?

I've never understood why people are so zonky about bats. They're just hamsters with wings.....unless it's a flying fox and to me those are nothing but puppies with wings. I love those little critters - even when they are full grown.

I'd not mind having a bat for a pet. Any of them, although I think the flying fox is the cutest of the lot.

I would love to see you out on safari with elephants or up in the Arctic, hoppin' about with the penguins.

I wondered that too. I saw several of their videos on the facebook page and most of the little ones had pacifiers in their mouths. I imagine their teeth are a bit sharp, even when small, but they really seem to go for those pacifiers.

The videos of the ones in cages that are all wrapped in blankets hanging upside down in the cages and exercising their wings for the day they take off are great too.

It's the wings that I really love. So medieval looking and used so well in movies to add spookiness.

Yeah, the baby in the video is a flying fox. They really do have a distinctive dog like snout.

They wouldn't be the snuggly, calm in your lap type of pet, that's for certain. I visualize a darkened room with 2x4s hanging from the ceiling for them to hang around when they want to and an open window so they can come and go as they please. lol.
