What a great soul - I plagiarized his jokes on many a Sunday afternoon w/ my own family. It will be hard to look at a humor thread without expecting him to show up.

    RIP David. See you soon...

That's a shock. He said he was meeting with Kevin Riley in late june or early july and was posting here as usual just July 13.

He was uniquely intelligent - and a funny guy, too.

Kay, it was Kevin who informed me. He said that he had a meeting scheduled for the 24th with David but he canceled because he had to go for some gastric tests. Leslie just told Kevin last night.
I was still pming with David about that time about a certain subject and it was about that time I heard from him last, too. Only 3 weeks from tests to death.

I feel like Pat does right now - just can't really get my head around that he is really gone.

    OMG.

Had to read the thread title twice. Surely it didn't mean our David Castle? CTABAK? No, it couldn't be.

    RIP David, you'll be missed.

Let's keep David 'alive' for a while longer! I haven't brought myself to the point that I can remove him from my Skype contacts and in fact if there is a lesson learned here it is to not wait to call people you haven't talked to in a while. Keep in touch with friends that mean something to you because you never know when it will be too late to call.

    Rock on CTABUK!

      That's the way I feel.
I wasn't close with Dave but he always had my respect.
I'd say he will be missed, but this thread is evidence of that.
Rest in Peace sir, and my prayers and best wishes to your loved ones.

I just read the replies in my post on the main forum and there is one from someone David worked closely with on his own SEO site. It made me remember something.

I remember now that the last pm I got from David was The last week of July - because he wished me luck on my move back to ID. We were talking about book publishing and he was quite emphatic that I should write one. I argued that the story that I had was not long enough for a book, but perhaps if I could think of another I could do a combo novela and make it worth the publishing. He told me "just do it - whatever it takes, just do it. It will give you a sense of immortality, a legacy. It will give you a place in history. There's no feeling that will compare to it."

I feel so fortunate now and so privileged to have received one of his last messages. I know he knew I'd think back and see that he said goodbye to me in his own fashion.
Those were his last words to me and I feel it is my duty and honor to share them with you. I hope they sink as deeply into your minds as they are sinking into mine today -- and forever.

    Thanks David. I won't forget.

In response to all of the messages of condolence, David's dear wife Leslie would like to express her sincere appreciation to all of his colleagues and friends here at the WarriorForum.

I know he really enjoyed what he did. I'd often hear him burst out laughing and I'd call through to his office "haven't you got any work to do?". His answer was always the same "this is work!!!".

David got a great deal of pleasure, and sometimes downright fun, from his contact with all of you. If there's an internet in heaven I just know he'll be straight in organizing everyone.

Amidst this most difficult of times, I have found great comfort in the kind words and thoughts expressed by members of the many online communities in which he participated.

David would have been very humbled and honoured.
