Hi Chris, I have been here since 2008 but did not post much until I started posting down here in the bar a few years back. The change of ownership took place during that time. Yep, it's changed a lot, many regulars left. The fact that it has 1 million members is not necessarily reflective of it's popularity, they were grandfathered in from Freelancer. Like any change, there is good and bad.

You may see a few old faces and many new ones. Claude Whitacre in particular has not been here much longer than I have but he has an old face.

Not so busy down here as it used to be but still some characters and fun to be had.

Anyway, welcome back. Now you can recant the story of why you went away and who the hell is Thaddaeus?

Different place all right - but a few old names still show up here and there...mainly down here in OT.

Dennis was around a day or two ago...we've missed Thaddeus. A little common sense is a wonderful thing...

And since the other camp is growing, the remaining smart ones are finding some driftwood and tethering their wood with string, and scurrying back occasionally to grab some cheese!

Assuming that Princess was sipping... Elixir... with Thad, were you by any chance with them?

  He passed away about a week ago. He has had problems for a very long time! He was on dialysis for quite a while and he had other problems, too! He told me once he was ready to go because he was tired of fighting his health problems!
  
  Charles was a moderator in one of my sites and he gave excellent advice! He had such a great way of saying things and he was very kind to people! I will miss him!

  Honestly, it IS good to see old friends in here... well, I didn't mean "old" as in "old"... what I meant is "former"... not former like "used to be" cause y'all have always been my friend but... what I meant to say was... Dang, it's good to be back... I think!

Most of the million members are spammers. Most of the forum is now non-English speaking. Most of the old timers have bolted. Most of the "buyers" are freebie seekers. Other than that, nothing much new. lol.

Yes, l agree with Princess, in part, this forum is a sinking ship, with most of the smart rats already jumped.

And a few smart ones, being outnumbered by ....other ones!

And since the other camp is growing, the remaining smart ones are finding some driftwood and tethering their wood with string, and scurrying back occasionally to grab some cheese!

Eventhough this is a public forum some rats will still cling into the cheese for their life, eventhough it is open for all.

If you are hoping for an intelligent open discussion best to move on, too many rats here!

Sad to hear about Charles.

Speaking of ole Thad I was just thinking about him the other day.

One big difference in the forum now is that there is almost none of the community/family feeling that used to be here. I am not sure how Thad would be received - he'd probably be banned. Change is inevitable but not all change is good .
