Postal rate hike
Anyone else notice?
Over 6 bucks now to send my priority mail cardboard envelope out (was 5 and change last year).
Also, went to order tobacco and the company I like to order from went wonky on their shipping rates.
To send me a single one lb bag of tobacco was going to be roughly 10 bucks. If I doubled the order the shipping went up to like 23 bucks. Cheaper to order one at a time or kick up to 3.
I said screw it and found another company that would send me 4 bags (even more if I wanted) for just 10 bucks.
These were all the USPS priority shipping.
Called my old stand by company to ask why their rates went up so high. They told me it was postal hikes and apparently they'd not been charging enough for shipping in the past so looks like they were trying to make up for some lost funds there. I appreciated their honesty - but at the same time something was off with the math on the shipping thing if it was more expensive to send 2 things in one box as opposed to 2 things in 2 boxes.
