There was a great interview today of John Cleese and Eric Idle.

If you are interested in marketing and enjoy a laugh it is worth watching. Interesting comments about timing in relation to the success of Monty Python and the resistance from management to allow them to flourish.

Lateline - 18/2/2016 : ABC iview

If you can't watch a the link above they say an extended interview will be uploaded to the ABC Australia youtube channel shortly.

Best regards,

Ozi

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

I was hoping the youtube content had been uploaded already but alas not yet.

If I see it available I'll paste the link.

The interview was engaging because it uncovered the timing in relation to how the success was built and how the timing in relation to following developments n society after the war set up the void that they were able to capitalise on.

That was a good point. They also mentioned the art, fashion and of course, music that came out of England in the 60s. It was huge cultural movement that would definitely not happen today. Bands that were once part of the counter culture and rebellious have now become part of the establishment. The Beatles, The Stones, The Kinks, The Who, Cream, and so on. Even a young black American guitarist called Jimi Hendrix had to move to England to become a star.

Python was at the tail end of that movement, and as they said, they'd never be given a chance to get started these days.

Interesting Bit Of Trivia Time - the film Monty Python And The Holy Grail was bankrolled by Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull, who were all huge fans of Python.
