    My wife and I saw GNR play live at the killer outdoor Alpine Valley Music Amphitheater venue in East Troy, WI, USA back in 1991 and would be willing to travel a couple hours to see them again. Kansas City is the closest gig to me that has been scheduled so far, and that's a 10 hour drive for me there and back...probably will miss that show.

    Rose was quite fond of Alpine Valley back in the day...from Rolling Stone in 1991.

    "I wanted to be buried here," he says. "I bought land here specifically for that reason. I mean, if you're from Lafayette, Indiana, you can go to California and know it isn't your real home. Alpine Valley was where I decided I would go, so I bought a place to be buried here. I don't think it's gonna happen that way now. And that's weird, but it's cool.

    "I'm going to look at it and see if I want to sell it," Rose says. "There were reasons why I bought that particular piece of land, with those particular trees and that particular smell and that particular vibe, and picked out the land with my stepfather. Those reasons don't exist anymore. And I'm okay with it.
    A great place to see a rock concert...in-fact I saw a Korn show there in driving rain and it turned into one of those monster 25,000+ person mud and sod fights, complete with massive mud slides down the valley. As crazy as any you have see on TV, and still fun even with all the drunk funks playing on the mud mountain in a steady downpour. It was akin to bowling, except the pins were people and the bowling balls were the mudsliders crashing down the hill.
