Small Miracles
I was on a conference call today, which made me late to the train to go to my class and acupuncture appointment. Ok, wait for the next train. I left in PLENTY of time to get to the metrolink, which is seven miles from my house...oh about 10 minutes. I allowed 20. I ended up behind the S--L---O----W-----E------S-------T truck in CA. Not only that, but I couldn't get around the dude, because in front of him in my lane was the S--L---O----W-----E-----S-------T car in CA, so I was trapped going 25 mph in a 60 mph zone. Finally, get around both only to see my train whizz by as I was driving up to the station and looking for a parking place.
DAMN! Ok. I'll get some gas AND DRIVE to LA. 70 MIILES! I don't have the gas to drive 70 miles--That's 140 miles BOTH WAYS! ( gripe about the gas, distance, I'm too TIRED to drive.....yada, yada )
So, I drove. Traffic wasn't to bad. A couple of slow spots, but all in all a peaceful drive. Get to my acupuncture appointment, reschedule. Go to study for the final.
My son sent me a panicked e-mail....CALL ASAP!
So I borrowed another student's phone....called....
The train I missed was in a HUGE crash with another train. I would have BEEN ON THAT TRAIN, had I not missed it!
Tribute:
G-d protected me today, allowing me sit safely in my little apartment writing this post to you. But many weren't so fortunate---the last I heard was 27 died, over 100 injured.
Please, pray for the survivors and the families of those who died in that crash.
