Prince died at age 57. I always thought he was one of the most underrated guitar players of all time. He reminded me of a Frank Zappa quote about "shut up and play your guitar".

He was also a great song writer and performer. And what sports fan will ever forget when he was playing Purple Rain during the Super Bowl half time show and it started raining?

57 is way too young. RIP Prince.

    How sad. I had just written a piece of news a few days ago when he got sick. It really did seem like he was going to manage and pull through.

    Life is an unpredictable journey. A scary one, for sure.

    Prince was truly a legend..... He was talented in so many areas.... I loved his music....

    I've also watched Purple Rain over 100 times.... :-)

    My favorite story about Prince was from a friend...

    He went to see Prince when he was first "coming up" in New Orleans. He said Prince looked like he was on stage nude playing the guitar..... When he swung his guitar around, he had little thong on... Based on his "public persona," that didn't surprise me..... He was a very unique cat....

    He leaves a void in the music world that is impossible to fill.....

      No doubt!

      Prince is one of those guitarists who "rose to fame" in the 80's who was off the charts.... He was up there with George Lynch from Dokken. :-) They each had unique and very different styles.....
