Oh, I just realised, I think they are called something like flip flops in the USA.

So what are the things Americans call thongs? I suspect they are not worn on your feet.

    Yeah Ron - I would suppose that the fact that the man's genitals were exposed would lead you to believe that they aren't talking about shoes eh? If it didn't, I'm wondering exactly how different Aussie's look from Americans.

    Thongs here are very small panties (underpants for men) that have just a thin strap up the back. They're the type of bottom wear strippers wear.
