I personally hope Favre does well with the Jets. I like the guy a lot and I think he still can do it, physically.

- However -

I do think he should have just stayed retired. I don't think his mindset is 100% behind him on this one... hopefully I'm wrong.

What are your thoughts?

Being a native Cheesehead, I hope he does well with whatever he does, or wherever he goes. However, if by some strange chance the Jets and the Pack were to meet in the Super Bowl I would want GB to win. Favre can still have an awesome game, as long as we take home the Lombardi trophy.

Brett's family lives in the Kiln not very far from here so the story is a very big deal on the Mississippi Coast.

As one football fan here said to me "Brett shoulda stayed quit while he was ahead".

After that second "I'm retiring", the local paper here ran a full color front page photo of Brett in uniform - which of course I sent to my Grandson who has footballs, photos and other stuff signed by Brett.

The strange thing to me is that I expected full support of his decision here on his home turf. What I hear is that though everyone wishes Brett well - almost all seem to add they think this was a bad move on his part.

He certainly doesn't need the money - so if it's what he wants to do, I say go for it and hope the old bod holds up.

I would have grabbed the $2mil per year "marketing" contract and enjoyed retirement. After that many seasons of having 200lb plus rushing 100miles per hour with the idea of taking your head off....it is time to go out on top. Remember him as he was, not what he has become.

Although he is one of the best QB's to play the game, he's not bigger than the game. I'm glad Green Bay handed him his walking papers.

I feel that he may have been one of the greatest quarterbacks of his time and may still have some in him, but and this is a big but I think he should have stayed retired also. I like him but I don't think I nor his other fans want to go through another retirement tear-jerker, if I want that i'll go to a movie and get some popcorn.
