Breakfast Was Yummy!

You could ask what would you call the standard British diet. These days so much foreign cuisine have infiltrated both the US and the UK so it's getting a bit blurred.

I suppose the US, traditional (perhaps excluding New Orleans and a few other variations) Would be good burger places, steak restaurants, barbecue ones and a good example would be the traditional basic fare served up in many roadside restaurants. Cracker Barrel is a prime example of this here. It serves up no nonsense, well prepared, what I would call traditional and basic american fare. I actually go there often. good stuff at great prices, nothing spiced up or exotic though.

The British stuff to be puerile, I would have to go back to the 60's and remember what my mother served up, we were largely free of foreign dishes in those days, Steak and kidney pies and stews, the classic Sunday dinner. All good stuff. The only sugar and salt used would be what you put on it yourself. (except for puddings)

I was well disappointed with both the Indian, Thai and Chinese fare that is served up over here, perhaps a lot more competition in the UK so it's that much better. It's like they said, well, what do the Americans know, we can palm them off with anything, they won't know the difference, they will think it's great. Well they would know if they travelled abroad now and again.

Thomas's are great, but I'm not to sure you'd like actual 'English' English muffins.
