Hi Warriors. A friendly question from @rockerjaw

My question is what is money? Money means different things to different people. Im interested to hear opinions on what is money? Is it a commodity to be traded? or an idea to measure growth? or the famous equivalent of time, or all of the above?

Why I'm asking is to gain some good ideas for pitching a sales proposal and good food for thought.

Feel free to tear the question apart.

As always leave a comment. As I'd like to discuss your views.
I'm looking forward to your responses.

well first .. understand whas has been considered money before what we call money now ..currently the USA and most of the world have fiat systems .. the value of which is determined by the amount of a specific currency and the strength of that governments economy compared to every other currency on the planet .. and people willingness to accept certain amounts of it for good service wages and taxes ..

If one government prints to much "money/currency" to fast you need to have more of it to buy the same stuff.. if that continues .. depending on the penalties ..people will shift to using a different currency or to gold because gold is in limited supply ....look at what is going on in Venezuela , Zimbabwe , russia has had it happen a few times and other countries .. and currencies are not designed to be saved .. as if people save to many and to little money s deemed to be in the system more money gets printed to reduce the value reduce the value of the current money until people spend or invest the savings .

money used to be backed by a comodity .. like gold .. which is valuable based on the amount of gold the government has ..so a company with a gold backing supposedly should only print the amount of money equal to gold.. but last time gold back the US bank note.. US citizens and to prevent rising wages and probable shortage of money .. THere where very high income taxes up to 90 percent or more on top earners .. and sense it was illegal for US citizen to own gold..the richest American citizen where not able to save enough money and walk in to get gold for their money ..

ok .. so money is created by government to get the majority of people to work to earn..so they can pay taxes then buy things with what is left

Theres several points in here worth considering. Fiat systems, foreign economic times, secondary currencies. I'll give it some thought.

Whatever floats your boat. I have my own game plan. I had a life once. Ask me how that turned out. Once was enough!

So - I can't get a life until I can make my boat float? Wow, that's going to take a while.

    Always a complication....

Money should be seen as a tool and nothing more. You use it in order to pay your bills, buy goods and services.

71.43% of respondents have voted to "Get rid of this thread." Which makes perfect sense.

I just added to the tally after originally deciding not to dignify the thread with a vote. :-)

I voted "It has no value". It's certainly no more stupid than a lot of threads that get started on here.

Money is just a currency to buy goods or commodities. How much money you have will define your buying power, your status and your reputation. Many people will say that money doesn't define them but in reality it does. Money is what fills your stomach with food, puts a roof over your head and buys you warm clothes.

Money is an idea backed by confidence.

Currency is an agreed-upon means of exchange.

Two different things that people often confuse as one.
