Okkkk, , you are aware that this is an IM forum, not an employment forum?

Saying this here, is a bit like walking into the UN with a bag of coal.

You are right to a point, a job will kill most IM endeavors over the coming year in relation to how much you have in the bank.

But long term???

A silly job will give you a nice vacation or several over 5 years, and possibly allow you to save something, (pretty hard to do in AU) and sure rack up the debts, and waste a lot on smart phone upgrades, etc, and put something into Super, (401K) so in 30 or more years you can p*** it away on a new car, and go on the pension, (that is what most do).

But go online for 5 years, and sure, you may end up with nada, (nothing) in that time, and the guy with the job looks way ahead, and in 10 years time, the guy with the job, (well in AU, a house is still out of reach for most) would have fond memories of Japan, and the US holiday, a 5k PC setup, nice furniture, and a home cinema, etc.

But have no more competency online than checking emails and booking flights.

So 10 years the job guy seems way ahead, and the IM guy has vast amounts of knowledge, (overall failures and a lot of skills and knowledge) but not much to show for it.

12 years later, the job guy is still doing ok, and planning another holiday, but is 15 years away from the pension, (getting his hands on his Super) which won't be enough, so he has to reside himself with renting til he dies, and making do on a minimal wage from the gov, (pension).

The other guy that has gone without, learned, acted, failed and then tried something else, finally makes it, and knows how to create wealth online.

He leaves the job guy, that is a good 12 years behind him, in regards to experience and knowledge in the dust, and gets over the million dollar mark within a few years, while the first, resides himself to another 10 years of hard work, and a meager existence.

What seems like a good idea in the short term, usually isn't for the long; And what seems terrible for the short is great for the long.

I is up to each whether they want to dive in the deep end, (risk everything) the middle, (keep a job and work on the business) or shallow end, (Tatt's ticket).

although this is an im forum .. this is also how to succeed in im..or with digital marketing..

as i study more and more about those who succeed.. the best most solid path of successfully building an online income.. is to have a stable income from a job or offline business .. and build the online income on the side ..this allows you to put the money you make online into growing the online business and extra income from the offline income into growing the business ..

i fully agree with your message..

now more than likely many or all in the 90 percent.. have jobs that make them misserable .. and are chasing the i'm dream ..or dreaming the i'm dream .. rather than getting better skills and finding a better job..

so your advice is good ..

Some of these "Keyboard Warriors" as you refer to are real entrepreneurs who are making a mint online. So dig that!

Having a job gives you a stable income thus, it can speed up the process of making money online because you'll have more money to invest in your business. But by all means, once you achieve financial success online and it replaces your job income just quit lol.

A lot of it goes into savings.
