Retired Couple Won Millions Using A Lottery Loophole

The games that allowed for this are now shut down but it was totally legal and netted them 8 million over 7-8 years.

    Was on 60 minutes again (rerun) last week...still an interesting story.


    The last time Jerry and Marge played Cash WinFall was in January 2012. They'd had an incredible run: in the final tally, they had grossed nearly $27 million from nine years of playing the lottery in two states. They'd netted $7.75 million in profit before taxes, distributed among the players in GS

    This was portrayed by a reporter who 'broke' the story as 'beating the lotter' - but all they did was play the odds in a smart way. The idea that they should have 'informed lottery officials of the weakness' is laughable. Why should they?


    They might still be winning today if it weren't for other groups (MIT) who were greedy rather than reasonable - and a nosey reporter looking for a big story.

    It is not that you are unlucky it is just that the odd's or winning are pitifully small, or you have a better chance of being struck by lightening.

    How many people claim that they were struck by lighting and lived very few.

    Some may go for 30 years before winning something worthwhile, while they spend at least $15k on tickets over that time, and usually only win, maybe 30k, (this is going by someone in my distant family).

    There are exceptions, but overall the masses go empty handed.

    Compare that with making $1 a day on the stockmarket, and reinvesting that, you would end up becoming a millionaire in 14 years...

      The average winning in a lottery...playing $15,000 over time...is almost exactly $7,500. You can increase you "average payout" by only playing when the jackpot if really high.....but that doesn't increase your odds, just the payout.

        I suspect perhaps many people have died, the need to go to and from the place to get the tickets have resulted in car accident that would have otherwise have not have happened. Heart attacks as a result of winning. Family disputes over the money leading to shootings. Many possibilities.

        And of course if you play the "Mugger Millions"

    Hey guys, how about loopholes in lottery? Does it really works? Since for me this topic looks like subject from the newspaper, that just wanted to be attracted Anyway how about this system of prediction? Since I've searched for it from different sources, my wish is to ask here about it too.
