INSTANT POT users??

Well, I don't yet have an instant pot. Thinking of getting one. Just to experiment with recipes.

I've made videos of Pan Cookies, Mug Muffins, and some off the wall kitchen hacks, but I see YUUUGE numbers of Instant Pot users, and a lot of recipes. Am I to late to the game?

I know many people won't use their microwaves, but will use these pressure cookers, which were big in the 1950's and 60's, especially for canning of fruits and veggies.

I think I'll get one, any USERS out there, and if so, what do you suggest?

PS. Yes, I'm thinking of creating some $$$ making info products...have some ideas for making your own long shelf life foods....well, anyhow. Instant Pots, got one?

    I don't use an InstantPot (my personal preference is actually what I believe is far more efficient - an induction cooker), but I sell tons of them as an InstantPot affiliate.

    I interview RV owners about their recipes using the Instant Pot, and syndicate articles in online/offline niche publications.

    How is an instant pot different from a regular pressure cooker? You can control the pressure or time it takes to cook? Is that it? I have a regular pressure cooker and it is a life saver when it comes to quick cooking. I have never used instant pots though they look quite useful.

        Sub-Forum. Anything goes, except religion and politics. Spurious, silly and even sometimes stupid subjects...and maybe,

        you can advise the regulars down here to use Google.

        I don't see the need. I used Google when searching for the Instant Pot, spent a lot of time, but asking here, is like (almost) asking someone you know.

        So, THANKS, if that is what you need...for telling us all about the amazing Google.

          Ordered two of them. And a few pounds of potatoes. Hope to make some of Granny C's moonshine (aka WV Vodka)...and maybe toss in a dime bag, to infuse it with some CA Mt, Shasta green. Then party like there's no tomorrow.

            i didn't drink untill 4 years ago when i moved to las Vegas ....really never wanted to get into smoking pot .. i think thats because i may have gotten stoned to death in a few previous life times ..

      I grew up wit.h a pressure cooker, my mom did a lot of canning. Anyhow, these newer versions have several options, so they can do more than just cook something fast.

      They are slow cookers/crock pots, some can be used as dehydrators, some even as a distiller (for making your own Peach cider)...they are safer, have integrated circuits, smarter and are some of the best selling kitchen products of all time, into the millions of units.

      In the last few years, scores of cookbooks have been written, a whole "cult" like following, and it is a huge market.

      I used Google (as advised) , and found that there were some areas where i think I can create products to serve this market.

      I've watched several videos of boondockers using them, power consumption, and they could be very useful even in the woods, with a power supply.

      I'm going to order a couple of them, different brands and play around, if nothing else, I can always regift them to the kids.

        i have a small digital pressure cooker ...personally i have found meat tastes best if i wrap a pork chop or a piece of chicken or a a portion of meatloaf ..in tinfoil before i cook it .. but the meat can be frozen solid and by the tiem the unit get up to pressure and runs through the timer .. it is usually fully cooked and you can cook other vegies and stuff in at the same time ..

        so you can cook pork potatoes and corn on the cob at the same time ..

        anyway it is up to your tastse what you put togeter and what spices you add

    Which one? The no frills type or one of the frills type?

    Back in my SCUBA days I would start a pretty decent spaghetti early in the a.m. and by the p.m. it was one fine dish. Well, considering divers eat almost anything after a long day of diving it was decent.

    Today, my favorite is the Clay Pot/Oven when I am camping or cooking in the back yard.

    I thought they would be ideal for a small kitchen or camper situation ecause they could replace several appliances.


    However, there are times when i wonder if the 'best selling' is exaggerated - maybe all those cookbooks and blogs are simply trying to monetize what they THINK is a top selling item?



    I know one woman in Canada who told me last month - 'my husband bought me an instant pot for my birthday - I've wanted one for a year'. I was like 'seriously'....'you're kidding'....and tried to make it sound like 'that's wonderful'...



    But then - reading this thread made me ask questions - and I found NO ONE I KNOW owns one of these thingies. Doesn't seem anyone on this forum does either. Made me wonder who is buying them - non-cooks, cooks who wants things done fast, imaginary cooks?


    Gordon - buy them, try them - let us know how they work. You can be our guinea pig.

      It's basically just a high-tech, high-priced programmable pressure cooker. Unlike conventional pressure cookers, which need to be monitored, the Instant Pot is set-and-forget. Millions have been sold. Diehard enthusiasts really do call each other "potheads".

      these are ideal for a single person or a couple. ..the same way most of the small air fryers on the market are ..the bigger ones are great for batch cooking ..they make cooking simpler and a lot less clean up .. or time baby sitting the food as you cook ..

      it is a bit like having a keurig ..if you want a cup of coffee just put the k cup in and run it how you want .. although i am fine when in my own place with the cheep 4 cup coffee pot .

      The InstantPot is gentle on nutrients and flavor. Health and fitness folks love it. Use the pre-programmed settings, or get recipe books for the InstantPot.

        Course, they don't nevah say this in most ressipy books bcs they want evrywan to take heart an ' eat hearty steada fixin' on oblivion or servitood.
