You know you're REALLY bored when you pop back into this forum after God knows how many years away. That's the kind of year it's been. Nothing to do with this stupid virus.

    You must have missed not continuing with that classic argument we had a number of years back about the relative merits of music. Look at popular music now, absolute crap. Something we probably both agree on.

      you my freind .. just need to stop listening to the great songs that are still played from your youth .. and listen to the all the sogn that made the top 20 list in a year of your youth ..and see how long before you realized popular music has always been mostly crappy ..

        Funnily enough I was reviewing some old TOPT (Top Of The Pops) shows from the UK that showcased the top 20/30 from the early 60's onwards up till the 90's. You are right, there was a lot of crap songs. However, these shows always had a sprinkle of good ones.

        This is something no longer evident. There are no good ones anymore.

        A couple of years ago, Paul McCartney released another solo album called "New" He had not released anything for a number of years before that and obviously he had written a stack of songs that were 90% musically good, were diverse and interesting arrangements.

        Despite this album doing ok, it did not do great. The songs were as good (if not better) as anything he had released in his early solo efforts and for the most if any one had been released as a single, it would be a hit. But, only back in the day.

        This lead me to the conclusion that only the oldsters and long time fans actually appreciated the songs for what they were, good, melodic "tunes", but the kids of today are just not recognizing and appreciating that fact anymore. It seems they have been brainwashed into only liking the current formulaic dirge that is around today, musically on planet zero.

        That I find really sad.

    You were (and are) my favorite HOW NOT TO DO IT story on the WF.

    Work hard, ignore good advice, be stubborn, bullheaded even...reach YOUR mountain top, sell a HOW TO WSO, get slapped down by Google...tumble down to the valley, moan, groan, and blame.

    Then come back after 3 years to remind us. THANKS, it is appreciated, I can now once again use your cautionary story for newer Warriors.

    If nothing else, you did (are) serve as a bad example.

    Hey Steven,
    The definition of boredom in my dictionary is the time when we are fully free and don't know what to do.
    Though present-day life is utterly busy. But, I felt a sort of boredom during the long pandemic. In the first month, everyone was feeling the same, fearful of the virus but then we planned some healthy activities to kill boredom. And spending time on the forum is learning on one hand and healthy time-pass on the other.
