I rarely blurt out profanities at a basketball or football game but I did tonight and really loud ( "Dammit" and "Sh!t" ) when my alma "tomater" missed a basket and lost a game tonight.

Well I didn't know but my wife was talking to my mother in law in the other room and she heard it. I am such a goodie two shoes in her mind I know she must be wondering what's this other side of Rob lol

Anyway, anyone one else had similar things happen ??

In the UK, people would not even bat an eyelid to hear those two words uttered. They are only considered to be mild profanities. I had to be warned about this when I came over here as to the different attitudes towards them.

    Such foul language there, princess.

The strings of profanity that erupt from my godforsaken mouth during football games would surely give you the vapers.

Yeah, I know pretty mild. But Iam just so laid back and nonchalant and fairly quiet when I am around her ...just kind of embarrassing

God forbid if she ever found these boards

Don't know what is funnier - that you cuss at games like everyone else - or that you think your m-in-law believes you are a goody-two-shoes....my guess is she's smarter than that

Don't worry, I don't think your mother-in-law will think badly of you. You didn't swear that much.

Yep mate. Sometimes while watching sports bad words can burst out of me When I was younger I watched a match PSG-Barca(6-1) and I was screaming like crazy after the 6th goal
