Could it be Claude or Dan? Maybe Lanfear63, Kay King, or Frank Donovan? There is also Big Frank, tagiscom, and maybe the yeti in hiding, Kurt Melvin? And a slew of other contenders like Princess Balestra , Odahh etc...etc...

I know there is no one who purposely tries to rank for this distinct honor. And its kind of silly really.

But just for fun who do you think is the funniest and wittiest according to their posts and what they have said in the last few years ??

    Phew, if my "How many Whiskers Does my Cat Have" thread ever gets approved here, then you would see raw humor in action.

    Mods, that thread is down the bottom of threads awaiting approval, which is inbetween Claude's multiple threads on "Vacuum Cleaners that Run in Donut Batter" and Dans, "Calling short pants "SHORT" needs to be immediately removed from the English language, including Welsh.

        Mark brings up a good point. Frank is British (or English, or European...I don't want to presume how he identifies) and he's still funny. Bonus points.

        Good point. He may seem "normal" in writing but if we heard him speak the Queen's English, we'd all say he talks funny too. We'll all the regular/normal people who kicked out the people speaking the Queen's English. Well, I guess at the time it was actually the King's English, but you get my drift.

      I might add it would be pure sacrilegious if I did not include Big frank ( when he honors us with his presence) as a close second to regular Frank.

      I would say that Frank Donovan is clearly the wittiest of anyone currently here. Maybe you as a second.

      But funniest? I think the clear winner is Mark.

      Frank Donovan makes me smile...and smirk. Consistently sharp humor. He's the one that makes me think "I wish I had thought of that" the most. But laughing out loud? Mark.

      But (I know how this is going to sound) the most I laugh on here is when I'm typing out a return insult to you. Not because i think I'm so funny, but it's so much fun.

      Big Frank always makes me smile.

      Kurt (Who used to be here) was the best insulter I've ever seen. His insults were less funny than brutal. Several times I just couldn't think of a retort that would do his insult justice. I suspect a sharp mind behind it all.

      Probably the country l am living in one, which is a two edged sword, or my humor improves with frustration, torment and pestering Santa for a guillotine, but l tend to make too many references to the Kryptonite that fuels my super joke powers?

      Or maybe my constant torment about Kittens all tied up in string or maybe all three?

        Where is Claude by the way?

        Hope he is fine.

        What stands out about him is his resilience.

        He can take every comedic martial arts move anyone throws at him with a perfect counter move.

        An his profile pic perfectly matches every well placed zinger.

        Actually many here could go professional not kidding.

        Funny to me is like people coming here totally new, seeing zero spam and deciding to set up shop.

        There was one time in a heated thread someone said the guys pic looked like he was straining on the toilet or something like that and he did.

        Ian an all you guys know how to spot flame wars an right in the middle add some comic relief.

    Hmmmm. I never knew this was a competitive sport. For a few years I used to play competitive improvised theatre games and if you can't be funny, you get either booed off or literally dragged offstage.


    I performed in numerous theatres including one that seats over 2000 people, and loved every minute of it, especially when my team won.


    I think Claude would get my vote.

    Long-termers will remember this. Several years ago, when the OT section was really humming, we had a member called Bill Farnham (aka Killer Joe). Funniest guy on the forum, IMO, and a much-missed absentee.

    Dan already mentioned the Statler and Waldorf comparison, and I have to say the Dan and Claude show puts most professional double acts to shame, even if some of the exchanges are more reminiscent of Itchy and Scratchy. But their individual posts also demonstrate how comic timing is just as much a factor in the written word as it is when spoken.

    And then of course, there's Mark. Nobody's punnier.

    Think the majority of you guys are all funny at times. The Thanks button does not do you guys justice. A laugh emoji like on Facebook would be better.
