So, other than being in the midst of a huge snowstorm today...

I was reading The Hustle and discovered that on this date is when it is officially believed the music died. Not sure about that, but it's an interesting read:

We can thank Don McLean for popularizing that particular phrase. But Holly's death is considered so tragic for the potential it robbed us of. His influence was already huge - even The Beatles took their name from his backing band, The Crickets - but who knows how much greater that would have become had he lived longer.

Arguably the reputations of other legendary musicians who died young, such as Hendrix, Joplin and Morrison, were only enhanced by their passing. The overwhelming feeling of Holly's early death is of what might have been.

Yeah, often wondered what Holly would had done, producing many more memorable songs no doubt. He would have probably have been a up there with the Beatles with his songwriting skills.

The music probably died about 5 years ago, trust me l have been running through them all trying to find anything worth listing to.

90%, is negro's, and women having to, (never mind) attempting to sing, burst fire hydrants, monotonous songs that all sound alike, and terrible rehashes of half decent songs from the 80's.

I am lucky to find one decent song a year now, and expect to find none when l get to this year.
