Just got a email for a new service.

VIP B0nus 3: Email Dead Man

Email Dead Man is the most important application in your life that will send email

after death to your family and loved ones. Just write a letter before you die and Dead

Man will take care of the rest.


At my age I think I will sign up for it. Immediately!

    Is that the 'dead man switch'?


    The emails are encrypted and stored on the company's servers. After every few days, you'll receive an email asking you to confirm if you're fine. As long as you keep clicking on the link, it won't trigger.
    Every few days you have to remember to confirm you are fine....which is a pain.

    I saw this advertised last summer and had two thoughts: (edit - three thoughts)

    1. Waiting till after you croak to talk to people you care about is really silly.

    2. You could creep out your enemies with this - if you could send an email a couple months after you die with a message like "I'm watching you"...


    3. To your older, self obsessed friend, send a message "Trust me, don't take the blue pill".

      So you have to verify you're fine after you sign up?
