Long weekend trip to Galveston Island

Will be in your neck of the woods. Mark. Rented a house near the beach with a group of friends.

Mark, I know I keep saying it but one of these days we must do lunch or something

    A few years ago, my wife and I were in San Antonio a day after Mark left. I'm so glad we timed that right...

    We're taking the boy to Cincinnati this week for a dinosaur show and a Lego exhibit. Not quite a trip to a Galveston Island beach mansion, but it'll break up the monotony a little.

    These close shaves are worrying.

    Well, just been to see a heart doctor. he recognized my problem straight away, not got Gern (or acid reflux) at all. What I have got is a little bit of heart failure. All other medications are off the table and just going to go on 4 from him. Some testing next month after 30 days worth.

    Makes you feel very run down.

        Don't know exactly what it is or how bad yet. Smart kookie doc noticed immediately how swollen my legs and ankles were.

    Looking at the News looks like parts of Texas has a wet weekend. Is that in the area you are staying?

    We're back. Really a great place to have a lot of fun. Galveston Island is so much more developed than our regular excursions to North Padre Island.

    Good grief all this talk about Galveston Island and Padre Island really brings back some great memories. I'm talking like from the late 1957-1960.

    Had a girlfriend out on Padre Island worked with her Dad there on a food truck. She wanted to go home and I told her Dad I would take her back to their house in Corpus Christi on my Cushman Motor Scooter.

    Didn't tell my parents what I was going to do. Needles to say I was grounded for what seemed forever.

    now back to the story. Nobody was home at her house and we had a little fun until we heard her Dad drive the food truck into the driveway. I made a quick exit out her bedroom window and a mad dash through the backyard over to the neighboring street where I parked the Cushman.

    I was devious even back when I was 15 or 16. LOL
