I love pitbull puppies

Maybe I just love puppies.

We found homes for all five. Last two will be picked up on Friday so no one is "left behind."

I would compare pits to aussies in intelligence. Slow on the uptake, but once they learn your mannerisms, pits are far more intuitive and attentive. I've had these guys maybe a week and they're housebroken at 8-10 weeks old. They understand and respond to more than 75% of my verbals. I have dogs 16 years old who totally ignore me, but these puppies do everything I ask. I'd trade these old farts in if'n my wife would let me.

There's nothing better than a puppy.

That's right and it is only fair you share some pictures.

    Or is it too late?

I used to be afraid of pits with all the stories you hear and one day I was in a pet store crouched down reading something on the bottom shelf.

The cutest little pit puppy came up and licked my face and I knew it was the other stories that were true. They are sweeties.

    Pictures please.

Puppies. Sigh. Rottie puppies are a lot like pitts, Radix - smart beyond belief. I love working class dogs. I like pitts but they aren't my dog. My dogs are Rotties or Mastiffs. I like the big fuzzies with the silly puppy faces. A lot of dogs change their looks as they grow - Munchie never did. He just kept getting bigger, and bigger.

Glad you found good homes for your kids. Hope I find mine soon. I know his name but haven't run into him yet. Soon.

Radix - this is the internet. Without pictures, it didn't happen. Cough up images or take back your outrageous claims about having had (and then given up) any puppies. As soon as you said you gave them away, I smelled a rat - who gives up puppies? Is that even humanly possible?

As for intelligence - a neighbor years ago had a little pitbull that grew up into a BIG pitbull while I was still living next door, and that dog was VERY smart from the get go. Seemed to understand his master, seemed to understand me, seemed to quickly figure out how to unlatch the gate and go exploring the neighborhood etc.

I have to second HeySal's take on rottweilers too - my dad had one that he adopted when she was already a few years old (maybe 4?). He only spoke German to his dogs, and I swear she learned German in less than a month. That's better than most people would do. Even seemingly complex stuff like "Go check on the llamas, you are just bothering the goats" (it's a farm and all...). She picked it up much faster than his bouvier de flanders, although that dog is also very smart and VERY warm-hearted. I suspect the bouvier is equally intelligent, but more stubborn than the rottie - he still enjoys mildly aggravating my dad and often seems to pretend to "not hear" at all, especially if he wants to do something that my dad doesn't...

So - I love puppy pics and I was severely disappointed when I didn't find any here...and pit bulls and rotties and bouviers are smart doggies.

      Regards, Georgetta

The innocence of dog youth, nice.

Most people and animals, when photographed with direct flash, show red eye from the flash reflected off the blood in the retina. Your dogs show green eye. Do Pit Bull Terriers originate from the planet Vulcan:confused:

I know some of the Aussie Warriors here might give the impressions that Australians aren't the brightst bulbs in the building but I'd wouldn't tar them all with the intelligence level of a dog!

In my opinion, pit bull puppies are the cutest puppies in the world. I owned one, and I taught him numerous tricks all in one evening. I taught him to bark when saying speak, I love you, and numerous other things. He was super smart. Anytime he wanted to go out, he brought me his leash, and threw it at my feet. I miss Boomer.

Those photos look so much like two of my Gracie's puppies that just found new homes last week!

Two just like that - two more with black noses and muzzles and one little white fellow with big brown spots (my favorite). I was going to keep the white one as I just loved his personality - but a 3 day ad in the paper resulted in over 60 phone calls.

I didn't list them as pit puppies as daddy was the little jack Russell/Pekinese mix from next door (he dug under the fence and must have brought a ladder). All of the pups looked just like their mama - with that muscular pit bull body.

I screened the wannabe owners carefully (turned 9 people down) and the pups got wonderful homes. My little white fellow when to a young woman who recently lost her large mixed breed of 12 years. I knew he'd be fine with her - but sure missed him after she took him home.

That will be Gracie's last litter (and her first, too) as she's due to be spayed next month. The pups were such fun to have around but I hated to let them go!
