Kind of worrying really!

Yep, that's the size of it, Mike. At least EU is doing something about it. Here in the US GM foods are actually promoted, 6,000 toxins are added to our environment, water, and food with the sanction of our gov (profits for Corps come first here).

Recently NASA "discovered" that eco-system degeneration also led to ill health in the human populations (gee, go figure) and they now have developed a grid that is being monitored by world scientists to identify "hot spots" where humans are wiping out the eco-systems so they can be built back before chain reactions set in that could be devastating to humans. However, because of rising populations that are flowing over carrying capacity of many endangered areas they are having tough decisions to make about how to stop the destruction in time to save the planet, and hence, avoid major die offs of humans as well. They are trying to bring back the idea of reproduction control but have religious and government groups fighting those efforts.

Doesn't look good right now, Mike. Doesn't look good. If we could get the US to illegalize GM plants like the EU has done and to start taking poisons out of the food and product supplies here that leach into the environment, the US might have a chance. Right now they are going nuts putting up more wireless towers though instead of reducing them -- telecom is making way too much money to agree to environmental, or human, health.

It looks like they will have to do clean up after we inadvertently reduce our populations via poison and starvation rather than making sense enough to work on prevention - we're at the tipping point now of damage done and very little is being done to discontinue the process.
