What is this system simulation and modeling?

    It's when you write software that mathematically determines the results of a physical system. When you play a video game, you press the "jump" button, and the game draws pictures on the screen that look like your onscreen avatar jumped. But there was no actual jumping - it was all just faked behind the scenes with math.
