Anyone else try to recover a password for a gmail account only to want to throw their computer out the window?

I have spent the last 15 minutes trying to answer my secret question but the stupid captcha is IMPOSSIBLE TO READ.

So I click the little handicap sign and tried to use the sound file. O M G its like an echoing death trap. I can not understand a F*&*& word that says either.

Anyone have any advice on the best way to read/hear these stupid captcha devices?

just leave the coxes empty until one captcha that might be readable pops up. i once got to refresh it over 20 times. and indeed, the voice over is impossible!!! btw, copy your secret answer so you just get to paste it when the right captcha appears

Ha yea except I have like 4-5 options the secret question answer could be, so I have been trying to do this for about an hour now.

I guess I will just give up and wait till tomorrow. I can't understand why google has to make it unreadable to even humans...

Is there some kind of technology I do not know about? Can computers read now or something?

I hate captchas. I had the same problem a couple weeks ago and got locked out of my account. So annoying. I just keep hitting enter till I can find one I can read. It's nice to know that i'm not the only human having problems reading those darn things. Good Luck!

Yeah, a lot of people are just NOT too bright! When asked to do things like this, I am OFTEN asked to restrain choices. For example, DON'T provide a choice between (l,I,1) or (O,0), etc... HECK, if the 0 has a slash through it is it a zero or the letter o? *****WRONG*****! You probably said NUMBER, right? Well, I have seen it through letters ALSO! So it is MEANINGLESS! And people should realize that captcha is supposed to limit automation by a few IDIOTS, NOT the proper entry by valid users.

      I feel your pain.
Recently I had to retrieve a user name and password from one of my banking sites.
They put out about a half dozen security questions that I know I had never seen before, I'm talking questions I wouldn't know the answer to if I had seen them before. When I finally made it through that mess I was presented with a captcha that I'm pretty sure was just squiggly lines. Finally after a few more that I couldn't read I called the bank and dealt with it on the phone.
It's a lot easier coming up with the last 4 of my ss then trying to read their captcha crap.

Haha, that squiggly lines remark had me laugh out loud. The good news is I didn't have to deal with the captcha anymore.

If anyone else gets locked out of your account you should try what I did, there is a support form you can fill out and google had responded and changed my password for me in about 20 minutes. At least they care enough to do that.

To be honest I laughed when I saw them.
I have a twisted sense of humor and they looked like something I'd think up.

I think, in Google captcha only one word is real captcha, in the other you actually write to google what is it. So you have better chances by 50%

The captcha helps Google to filter all those Auto Data Mining Software to protect the privacy & security of our Google account.

So we have to bear with it as Google implemented all these to protect their users/customers also.
