RANT: WHAT ARE YOU THINKING

Was cruising the main forum today, and found what I believed to be a potential suicide note.

Right below it, was all these people tying away giving this person advice. I'm not going to link to said thread, because I don't want to draw any more attention to it than necessary.

All I gotta say is......what the hell? Someone is openly talking about suicide, and you act like it's just a person asking for normal business advice?!?!

You are not a suicide counselor. Neither am I. The advice you post on this forum to a guy like that may be what pushes him over the edge, and now we get to read bad press about Warrior Forum in the papers...nice.

What's even worse is if this guy actually does go through with it, you are now in line for a ass kicking via lawsuit. Didn't think that could happen did you?

Here's what to do when you see a post like that: On the left hand side is a 'report post' icon. You click on it, and fill in the following box telling the admins to basically find out where this guy lives, and do what you can to get him help. The admins (assuming they are on the ball) will then contact a local (in their area) suicide prevention center, who will talk them through finding out the necessary info so help can get to the person.

Do anything more than that, and you are asking for trouble. I've read too many times about this stuff happening, and the bad press can and does reverberate. Allen doesn't need it, and you don't either.

Rant over. Gotta go take a shower now.

    Many of the posts there were telling the person to please see a doctor, to ask for help, etc.

    The member has no name, no country, no contact info. It is highly unlikely his isp would give out personal info to someone who asked for it. It was pretty clear from the post that this person is not us based which complicates things further.

    The stories publicized were those of people who went on public venues threatening to hurt themselves - and were encourage to do so by idiots there. That didn't happen here.

    Thinking someone might show up at his door could be stressful, too, couldn't it?

      Totally agree with you here.

      No1 was encouraging him/her to do anything negative. It was POSITIVE support in one way or another.

      What he was looking for was support and that is what we gave. He obviously needed it, how would YOU feel if you posted a thread like that and NOONE said a few words to you other than click the report button?


      I think the warriorforum community did the right thing.

    Hello,
    I replied to that thread as well, my advice was to find another person as a partner.
    I did that myself and it helped me.
    That person does need help and it is not just in the internet marketing field.

    I'm confused I can see you have been here a long time but do you speak for the owners of this forum? I don't recall them ranting about our actions like you are.........and frankly I'm shocked when we were trying to help someone-and yes I do believe everyone in that thread was trying to help in the only way they knew how......that you felt the need to take it to another part of this forum and rant about it. I just really don't get ur issue.......someone needed to know someone cared and now they do....again.......shocked@your reaction.
