Hey Kim...

You know, you're not that far off. There's a sport called "combat chess". It combines mixed martial arts and chess.

You have a round of MMA, then play a few minutes of chess, then a round of MMA.

The first person to win in either way is the winner of the bout, so you can win a fight by knock out, submission or checkmate.

Slingshot People...

Bungie-jump not vertical but for length.

Or use something like a catapult.

Use a large trampoline to catch people.

After bouncing off the trampoline the player must land on their feet.

Combat chess? I've never heard of it ,but will look into it.

TL, that sounds more like a way to punish than a sport.
I say anybody that runs onto a playing field during a sport gets Goal Post Slingshotted!

On a serious note, have you ever bungie jumped? It is quite an experience!

How about combining competitive eating and a triathalon?

First you eat 50 chili dogs, then go for a 5 mile swim...We'll find out real quick if the old saying that "you can't go swimming for 30 minutes after you eat" is really true.

After the swim, 45 miles on a bike, which should be perfect timing for the chili to kick in...Sitting on a bike seat under these conditions will test anyone's fortitude.

Winner gets a trophy.
