James Bond - role which every man would love to play. Reason car and woman. But however told me which actor do you think played the most impressive role of James Bond -

1) Sir Thomas Sean Connery
2) George Robert Lazenby
3) Sir Roger George Moore
4) Timothy Peter Dalton
5) Pierce Brendan Brosnan
6) Daniel Wroughton Craig

I have to go with Moore as well, but only because he was playing the part the first time I ever watched a Bond movie.

Connery most definitely. Lazenby was good as was Brosnan. Moore I think was better when he played The Saint. I haven't seen Craig doing the Bond thing but he seems to have got great reviews.

Of course Sean is the definitive Bond.

Roger Moore started by modelling knitwear and used that very talent throughout his career.

And Daniel Craig is a great actor, but just looks like a nightclub bouncer when he's in a tuxedo.

Funnily enough, my favorite Bond movie doesn't feature Connery. It's On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

      Why?

      Four words:

      Snow. Christmas. Diana. Rigg.

My vote goes in favour of Pierce Brosnan. He was just fit for this role because of his looks, his style. In simple words he is the best one as James Bonds. After him Conery is my second choice.

    That's pretty presumptuous.

Anyway I'll say Tommy Connery cause his mother had the good taste to give him such an awesome name.

Yes, Sean Connery. Mmmmm. When I watch him in those fabulous 60's James Bond movies, he is so delicious it hurts! Obviously I have to use my imagination and pretend that he is still like that...although even today I think he is a very attractive man.

He IS James Bond. Totally believable. Rough and ready, yet sophisticated. I love hearing him talk too.

Number two is Pierce Brosnan. Unfortunately, I don't quite buy him as James Bond, but I do love watching him on-screen. He was AWESOME as Remington Steele. And Thomas Crowne.

Lazenby didn't make any impression on me - but I didn't like the movie he did, so maybe it isn't his fault?

Roger Moore - not really fond of. He was too dapper. He would jump in the ocean and his hair wouldn't get mussed. He wasn't believable as a super-spy.

I haven't seen the other ones.

      Best Regards, Georgetta

Folks should know that the author of Bond didn't like Sir Thomas Sean Connery as Bond. He thought he was too rough for the part.

I can't choose between Connery and Moore who did really funny stuff with facial expressions, but Craig does look like a bouncer in a tux. Pierce Bronson was OK.

I'm not sure what you're referring to.

I just remember reading somewhere that the author of Bond didn't like Connery as Bond.

The reality is, someone else bumped this old thread. TL made his response AFTER the bump. The bumper's post was deleted, making it seem like TL bumped the thread. He didn't. Not that it matters...

I still haven't seen Daniel Craig yet, so I can't make a definitive judgment. "Casino Royale" was just on earlier today, too, but I had to miss it. I really liked him in the movie "Defiance", though.

Years ago, I read a couple of the James Bond books. Daniel Craig seems to embody that character the best, in my opinion.

Yeah, David Niven would have been a great Bond, even though he played the retied Bond in the first Casino Royale movie. Heck, in that movie, even Peter Sellers was James Bond.

Peter Sellers, the best James Bond.

George Lazenby: The most wooden acting since Pinocchio

Timothy Dalton: Man of action, ok actor but not sexy (in Claude's opinion)

Roger Moore: Able to raise one eyebrow on its own. Did a couple of good comedy bits with Jaws like calling him butter-hook!

Sean Connery: A great James Bond, wore a toup from the second film. Check out The Hill from 1965

Peirs Brosnan: Winey voice, otherwise looked the part.

Daniel Craig: Gritty bond, not great looking and no taller than Riffle. Not bad and more realistic story-lines.

Michael Kors bumped the thread. Daniel Craig Riffle swiftly saw to it that the bump
was deleted, inadvertently framing TL whose reputation was saved by Kurt.

In the end, there can only be one. Connery for sure.

I think this guy would have been good:

The real James Bond has spoken and answered this question: Roger Moore: I'm the fourth best James Bond | Fox News even though I think he's being far too humble. In fact they may have had him hooked up to some kind of torture device when they did that interview so he'd say anything to get out of it.
