Grocery Delivery Services

does anybody use a grocery delv. service?

you order your dry goods online, and have them shipped to you.

i have joined a program, and wal-mart / sams club have jumped in.

is this going to be as big as they say?

i was thinking more on the line that you could order your goods online,
then someone would shop the order and all you do is go pick it up.. !

that would save me a lot of time.

thx

It will be interesting to see if it does succeed. The most spectacular crashes during the dot com bomb were grocery services. The logistics are brutal. They would really need big money backers like Wal Mart or Costco.

The concept was ALWAYS a great one for pizza. Before there was "online" I had to use a telephone to order pizza delivery. Now it's all done with one button on my iPhone.

I actually do have the Pizza Hut app on my iPhone, but you have to have to register for a Pizza Hut account. You can get the app here:

There are many other restaurants and stores using this technology for ordering. Stores that offer this service use third party delivery and shipping.

Yeah, I remember the hype around Webvan.com and then seeing it go under. A lot of investors lost a bundle on that one.

Frankly, I wouldn't trust them with perishables. IF you are infirmed and the store is LOCAL and, hopefully, in a small area, that is one thing. Otherwise, I don’t think so. It HAS been tried a few times, and I am not aware of ANY success, outside of what I just said.

BTW pizza is self limiting. It is LOCAL and, EVEN THEN, they may not deliver!

BTW, you probably aren't getting any votes in your poll because you don't have answers as options to your first question, you have four more questions. How is someone supposed to vote in this "poll"?

Pizzahut is worldwide, and they will deliver right to your door with just about any kind of topping. And you order right from their website. I have never had a problem with non-delivery in forty years. You even get a free Pepsi with their Value menu.

        NO THEY WON'T!

MAYBE you don't understand me! SOME of them WON'T deliver! They WON'T DELIVER to SOME areas!

That is a FACT, sorry! I would LOVE it if it weren't true because I am often affected!

          You really should start tipping.

I DO tip! Of course, you can't tip if they don't deliver the pizza!

BTW HERE is what pizzahut's system said!

We're sorry. We were not able to match a store for online ordering delivery service with the address provided. You can try changing your address and resubmit, or change your occasion to 'Carryout' to find the closest store offering online ordering service for carryout orders.
Changing it to carryout found FIVE places, and the closest one is 15.1 miles away!

That's funny. Try changing your address and resubmit. You can change it to
your second house address in their delivery area and go over there and eat it.

Yeah, I thought much the same thing. But I HAVE had PEOPLE say much the same! One company lost 2-3 HUNDRED dollars, because they kept sending it to the wrong address.

I've never used grocery deliveries because of the extra cost
involved. I can't really see how anyone could do it for free.
Plus part of the thing about buying groceries is getting stuff
you don't need. lol. It's fun.

Tim... I was wondering the same thing about the poll. It should
be, which is the best question to ask in a poll.

sorry about the poll this is my first one..

what makes this program nice is that you will get a gift card that you can take to your local wal-mart or sams club

I tried this a few years ago when it was brand new and there were always errors with my order. I would ask for vegetarian beans and I would get lard beans. It's just best to pick out your groceries yourself.
