After pulling over to the side of the road and diving in after the truck that was in front of me that ran off road into a lake, I immediately did whatever I could to get the unconcious man that was inside out of it.

The truck was filling up with water quick, i saw that the man inside was locked in and windows rolled up, which made it extremely hard to get him out. The truck was at float at the time i arrived to it, and 2 others that were helping out. We needed something to break the back window with to get him out. If we broke any other window or tried opening any door, the truck would sink immediately, as the air in the cabin was the only thing keeping the truck at float.

After swimming back to land and running to my car for a car jack and a crow bar, we broke the back window out. Immediately after we have done this, one of the other guys decided to open the door, which was not a good idea at all. The truck then sunk to the bottom instantly, just about pulling all of us with it with the pressure.

The truck is now at the bottom and the man inside it is with the truck. We all took numerous attempts in diving to get him out, but had no luck until the last one. We got finally got the man out of the truck (after about 2 - 3 minutes of being under water). The man was not breathing and was blue as can be.

We brought him to land where we can try and get him breathing again. He had no pulse at all. After about 45 seconds of performing CPR, we finally got him a pulse back and breathing again. We have revived this man at the scene before emergency vehicles showed up.

We noticed the man had a bracelet on indicating he had a pacemaker. This all of a sudden triggered to me that he must have had a heart attack or stroke behind the wheel and ended up crashing in the lake.

Shortly after, several news crew came by to film the inccident and interview me with the story of what happened. Here is a couple links on it below.

It's a good feeling isn't it? Probably it is also a bit surreal. Congratulations! I'm sure you will treasure this moment forever, and hopefully it will create something special in life for you and the person you rescued.

    What an awesome story, Jake.

The world is just a bit different tonight because you are in it. A man's family is not in grief, a man is thinking of his second chance and is having revelations, changing himself, and understanding things he did not before.

Sure beats the hell out of a number one on google doesn't it? LOL

I'm proud to be a member of a group that has people like you here, Jake.

You did something special Jake, very special.

If there is a big fella up there, he will be awarding serious points to those
who look after others before themselves.

You saved somebodies loved one, I commend you.

Congratulations - you 'went the extra mile'. God bless you.

I am very sad that the man died but at least he had a few last minutes with his loved ones.

You are not Jeff Solochek's son are you? I am sure your dad is very, very proud of you, even if he is not Jeff!

    Keep up the good work!
