Yesterday I was labeled a Hero in my city
The truck was filling up with water quick, i saw that the man inside was locked in and windows rolled up, which made it extremely hard to get him out. The truck was at float at the time i arrived to it, and 2 others that were helping out. We needed something to break the back window with to get him out. If we broke any other window or tried opening any door, the truck would sink immediately, as the air in the cabin was the only thing keeping the truck at float.
After swimming back to land and running to my car for a car jack and a crow bar, we broke the back window out. Immediately after we have done this, one of the other guys decided to open the door, which was not a good idea at all. The truck then sunk to the bottom instantly, just about pulling all of us with it with the pressure.
The truck is now at the bottom and the man inside it is with the truck. We all took numerous attempts in diving to get him out, but had no luck until the last one. We got finally got the man out of the truck (after about 2 - 3 minutes of being under water). The man was not breathing and was blue as can be.
We brought him to land where we can try and get him breathing again. He had no pulse at all. After about 45 seconds of performing CPR, we finally got him a pulse back and breathing again. We have revived this man at the scene before emergency vehicles showed up.
We noticed the man had a bracelet on indicating he had a pacemaker. This all of a sudden triggered to me that he must have had a heart attack or stroke behind the wheel and ended up crashing in the lake.
Shortly after, several news crew came by to film the inccident and interview me with the story of what happened. Here is a couple links on it below.
