The musical octopus

A guy walks into a bar with an octopus. He sits the octopus down on a stool and tells everyone there that this is a very talented animal. "He can play any musical instrument in the world."

Everyone in the bar laughs, calling him an idiot. So he says that he will bet $100 on it with anyone who has an instrument that the octopus can't play.

So another guy walks up with a guitar and sets it beside the octopus. Immediately the octopus picks up the guitar and starts playing better than Segovia, and the guy has to hand over his $100.

Then another guy walks up with a trumpet. This time the octopus plays the trumpet better than Miles Davis, and this guy also pays up his $100.

Then a Scotsman walks up with some bagpipes. He gives them to the octopus who fumbles around with them in a confused fashion for several minutes.

"Ha!" the Scot says, "Can ye nae play it?"

The octopus looks up at him and says, "Play it? I'm going to make love to it as soon as I figure out how to get its pajamas off".

        bravo75- I don't know why you made this comment but I am NOT a spammer. I may be a newbie with only a few posts on the Forum but I have no ill intentions - I happened to come across this post by Alexa and left a comment. If it offends you or makes you suspicious I feel sorry for you. Without a reason please do not cast wrong aspersions at random and if you are not sure about what you might be insinuating.

          I apologize, bud.
          It just seemed like a typical spam comment that you see all the time here. It gets on ya nerves after a while. You will find out yourself if you stick around long enough.

        Your comment was out of line for sure. New Warriors with low search counts are not all spammers. In fact this new warrior doesn't even have a sig file. How is it you think they were spamming?

    Sig file not needed to be SPAM.
    Everyones definition of SPAM will vary, but one line comments by new members,especially here in the Off Topic forum,where it seems we get so much more SPAM than the rest of the forums, are suspect.
    A lot of what we get here are new members trying to raise their post count by posting one liners,not knowing that posts in OT do not raise your post count.
    That being said,if you are thin skinned,the bar is not the best place to hang out.Otherwise,consider it part of initiation by fire and welcome!

        Good joke though, I hit the thanks button instead of saying: "funniest thing ever in the history of the WF!"

    I managed to turn a post with a good but unnoticed joke into a spam discussion ;-).

    I apologize since I was at fault at first. I inadvertently put in a one-liner when I had known about one liners being attributed to spammers. It was past midnight here and I had been going through a lot of information and making notes and was tired.

    Thanks for the welcome, KimW. All's well that ends well and a good joke gets a good bump!
