Hi, I am not to sure where to put this thread.

I have been doing a bit of Affiliate marketing and have brought quite a few different programs over the last 18month or so. I was wondering if there was a way I can just transfer theem from my old laptop to my new desktop?
I have a usb with the Micro Niche finder software so can use that for that transfer but don't know with the others.
A couple are the magic article rewriter and the submitter. Also a database of plr article (forgot the name but from james jones) .

I have taken a break for a few mths as I was stressing myself and over thinking everything and am now ready with a new game plan to stress less and get back into it.

If anyone can advise me on how I may be able to do the transfer of programs that would be great.

Would I need to find my receipts on the laptop and email the different ppl I brought from???

Sorry if the post was a little confusing but i think I got it out right

Thanks Sarah
  • Hi Sarah Ann

I had a similar problem last year when my laptop just died so I had to buy a new one.

You should be able to transfer everything from your old lap top including the software you have bought using Windows Easy Transfer (presuming you're using windows.)

Personally though, what I did, only being a medium sort of techie person, and being terrified of losing everything and messing it all up, I went to my local store where I bought the new laptop and paid them to do it all fo me.

I think I paid about £20 - not much for peace of mind. They also gave me everything backed up on an e drive.

I'm in the UK so not sure what store you would go to ( I used PC World which is very common here). Also, I'm pretty sure you don't have to use the store where you bought the new laptop.

I know this post wasn't technically helpful but if you're not a techie, like me, get some one else to do it for you. Saves all that worry

    Good Luck

I'm not too bad at things like this usually but was terrified that I might

      Hi Sarah,

You may be able to buy a cable that plugs into the hardrive of your old computer and into a USB port on your new one to do the transfer. I paid around $20 for one and I think you can get them for even less.

        Hello,
I would suggest that you buy a cheap external hard drive and then transfer everything over that way, you can delete the stuff after the transfer and then keep vital files on the hard drive as a backup.

        Something new soon.

Thanks for the replies. I have windows but my laptop wants to download 2 service packs for vista that will take all day and all my downloads for the month to do if i use the easy transfer. I will just go check it out again and see I have an external HD So will try that if the service packs are to hard.

Ok, I have spent all day trying to download the vista service pack 1 and it keeps freezing. Doing my head in now.
Can someone please help me with the best way to copy programs from my laptop. do I just copy and paste them? I have no idea and some help would be great
(mostly need to know if copy and paste would work for say the magic article rewriter etc.

    Thanks Sarah
