It's mind boggling to think that this sort of thing still happens in the world in this day and age.

Somali girl 'pleaded for mercy' before Islamists stoned her to death for being raped

I agree with you. It's amazing what people do in the name of religion.

That's why ALL religions should be banned... Because there are always extremists, in EVERY religion.

      Banned??? Banned???

You get rid of religion. You will have ideology. You will still have differences in the way you see the world from one person to the other. There will be "right ways" and "wrong ways" of doing things to someone somewhere.

The end of this logic leaves you with one approved way to look at life and all those who don't agree will be punished in some way. That sound a bit repressive and anti-liberal to me.

I go for freedom and say let's be harsh on the individuals who use their religion (or ANY REASON) to kill or hurt.

Yeah, I guess "BAN" shouldn't be the right word to use.
I just don't understand strongly religious people...

Ah yes, yes, it is their custom. They have a religion which allows them to act like extremely brutal and dangerous animals.

Know what? I have a religion which sees brutal and dangerous men as a waste of oxygen whom we have a duty to erradicate from the planet.

Don't confuse zealots with people of real faith. When they get controlling, that isn't the worship of a god- it's a lust for power. There are people everywhere that actually violate the scriptures of their chosen diety(s) to gain power over others and use the name of their god to make people act as they themselves wish. At least one Scripture - Christain prohibits the thought that we "know the mind of god".

There will always be the religious - they just don't always understand that there is no FAITH if there is no choice and I've not seen a religious document yet that says that redemption lies in acting like you believe so some nut won't enslave or kill you for not doing so. There will always be the faithful, who differ greatly from the religious.

I'm with you on this one - I feel faith is a personal matter and should be a private matter as well rather than a regimented mini-government,

    It is sick.

I remember hearing about a girl who was dying and her parents refused to do a blood transplant, which would save her life, because it was against their religion.
