I was pulling graphics for my blog and I came across this one that I thought was interesting. The Google logo from 1998. Do any of you remember it?

  Gmail beta was awesome. I remember I had to be invited to get in. It was sweet, I was able to snag my name without crazy characters at the end... Ahhh the good ol' days.

That Google page is awesome.

What about that other search engine that used to give away money to people who used it? A sort of lottery/search engine. That was awesome! I would have bet money on them back in the day, over Google, for sure. I think they did go out of business, though.

Tim, I remember actually using gopher. Along with archie, veronica, tin, vi, pico and pine. And surfing with lynx. I remember when a single human being could keep up with every site listed with Yahoo each day.

There are people here who can remember when those things were being written...

I wouldn't go back to those "good old days" for money, marbles or chalk, brother.
