Hey Guys,

Tomorrow, October the 7th.. I turn 16 years of age.. It's a milestone for me, and a chance to get my drivers license (a learners permit is what you get at 16 in Canada).

I've been a Warrior for a long time -- I've made contacts, friends, clients, business partners and more on this forum. So For my 16th birthday I would like to give back .

You can win....

- 1 WAR ROOM MEMBERSHIP
- 2 Copies Of The WordPress Teen

Thats right I'm giving away one WAR ROOM Membership, and 2 copies of my WSO The WordPress Teen (sells for $17).

If you wanna win...

Post in this thread, what you would tell someone, if they asked, what the first thing, you should know in Internet Marketing is!

I'm ready to PARTY

Caleb

Caleb, I hope you have a happy birthday man. As far as what I would tell someone, IM is not a sprint, it's a marathon. And just like when you train for a marathon, you are going to get out of it what you put into it, if you don't put much into it, you definitely will not succeed. Pick a method and go for it, believe in yourself and you will succeed.

      Happy Birthday Caleb.

When I was 16 I was running my own eBay business, these years will be a monumental learning experience for you. Keep it up and you will be leaps and bounds ahead of your classmates.

I do not have any advice, as I am new myself. I purchased my first IM domain the other day and currently loading it with content. (Keep in mind I only learned about IM less than two weeks ago) But I can say that as somewhat of an outsider, it seems like the majority of people are dreamers, not do'ers. Take a leap of faith, at the very least it will be an enormous learning experience.

Happy Birthday Caleb! 16 is a great milestone but it also seems you have done more than most teens do in the realm of learning and making your life better. Great work!

If someone were new I would most definitely tell them to study the facts and each aspect of internet marketing first and foremost. That way they can see what appeals to them, gain a better understanding of all the fundamentals. Then dive in to more learning and executing.

I would tell them that IM is a growing business -I have no doubt about that-
In a sea of hopeless online traders, as well some skilled and capable traders, there will be no room for timewasters.
I would love to be a member of the war room if I had more time in my hands. Hopefully in the future.
Nevertheless, a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.

Happy Birthday to you and May God Bless you and yours with his choicest blessings. Amen.

The first thing to tell newbie is to give value first via free report or advice, preferably in exchange for email address and build a relationship based on trust and mutual benefit and then sell - product, service or advice.

I know it sounds a little cliche, But I would tell them to FOCUS, don't get sidetracked with all the other possibilities and all the ebooks and junk. You'll just end up with information overload. Stay focused on one project until it's up and making a little money before moving on.........and join this forum, huge resource for answers and advice to avoid costly mistakes.

BTW, Happy Birthday Caleb. Man I can't believe I'm 33 and just learning this stuff, you've got a huge jump already. Hope you make your first million before your old enough to drink.

      Happy Birthday Caleb!!!

      My advice is:
Don't think you will not pay to set up your Internet Marketing business. Yes, you will pay, and pay dearly--either with time or money.
That said, it doesn't mean that it can't be a lot of fun. You will learn so so much and meet some very nice people. Just don't expect your friends to understand at all. All they will ever say is ---man you got took!--even when you are making money. Somethings just never change. :-)

      Happy Birthday Caleb!!!

an aside to you --the fact you want to give to others on Your special day means that you are already ahead of the game--the Internet Marketing game, that is! Keep it up! I applaud you.

It's a good age to be into IM or freelancing. I somehow regret that I only discovered this world while I was 17, but it's better later than never. Now I'm 18 and I'm earning quite some good money for the place where I'm living, but I'm still struggling to hit $1,000 a month.

My youngest son will be turning 16 next month and he can't WAIT to get his driver's license. He's going in on his birthday to take the driving test, that's how bad he wants his license! So I completely understand your excitement!! Good luck with getting your permit!

Still haven't found anyone. Hint: Please don't try to win if you have a little 1 post count on this forum... I want to promote contributors, not new people. No offense, I want to help someone I know that will use it..

That being said, if you make a good reply and your active here on the WF, then you'll win. What is the first thing people need to know joining IM. Post it in this thread. I will try to decide today when I see some awesome post.

Let me add on to my small blurb said earlier:

I have been in Internet Marketing for 3years now. I started off working for other people, all the time carrying a full-time job to pay the bills. That said, I slowly built websites and wordpress was/is so needed to save time. My goal was to eliminate the full time job and so I began to be an email responder -big time. I would download one video only to find another that seemed better. This went on for 2 years. Finally, I said enough is enough, and am focusing on one aspect...but the progress is still slow because there is that matter of promoting it on a slim budget. However, I feel confident the time spent will pay off since I am now focused and not helter-skelter as before. Thanks! It felt good to say all that.

        Hi Caleb,

Just realized that I really did not crystallize an answer to your question:

Continuing on with the theme of staying focused, what a new marketer can do is use this warrior forum as a screening process for any IM offer that seems too good to pass up. That means, put the keywords of the title of the offer and the author's name into the Search above and submit it. You will usually be taken to a thread about the IM offer. Probably will even have people asking the same questions as you--is it worth it? Can the author be trusted? Is it a bunch of BS or can this product really help me? Do this and you will stay focused, as many a time I kept my money in my pocket, instead of laying it down due to excellent copywriting, but little substance in the IM offer.

Don't worry. I'm done now. And...whether I win or not, I promise to be more active, again, in this warrior forum that has very honest people in it. I like that!

    Hello Caleb,
first of all would like to say Happy Belated Birthday to you. I will tell you this someone was nice enough to send me the thread to this and I am replying. I am sorry for lateness but still wanted to share even though the spot has been giving. The first thing I truly believe one is to have when entering IM is that they need to know patience first and foremost. Nothing comes overnite even with all the hype in the midst of the "ads" and "super letters" out there. Also, a person needs to focus on what their passion is and go for it and stick it out for the long haul. This means to not become a program hopper. I learned that the hard way. The next best thing is always 24hours away or less....... (sarcasm truly). I also would like to say that just because someone says something works for them does not mean it will work for you. You have to connect with what your strong points are and willingness to stick with it and see it through.....(another learning curve...but good one). Also, make sure you set aside a certain amount time daily to build your business....remember it is not a hobby this is life changing journey that is for the betterment of you and your family. I am very thankful. I almost lost my daughter to a drunk driver this past weekend and even though I miss some of the time online to do my daily marketing I am so thankfurl to spend that quality time with her at the hospital on a daily basis. Thank you all on Warriorforum! I have found some real gems here and hope to meet many more!
