Okay so the Internet is one of the most momentous "inventions" in human history.

Can you name just one new invention that would be more influential than the internet...if it were to be developed?

I cant

    I can...

    1. Travel at the speed of light.

    2. A working anti-gravitation device.

    3. Real time travel.

    4. Discovery of a speed greater than light.

    Just to name a few...

Why would anybody need to go faster than light? I took physics for two years in high school but that was a while ago. You seem pretty versed in physics..if you are going faster than light, doesnt time get shifted....I would imagine that would be more influential than the internet

Big earl would either buy the patent and bury it, or bury the inventor.

Intergalactic internet - tap into the minds and technology of more advanced civilizations.

A real stargate to go from planet to planet.

Interdimensional transportation device to warp into other universes.

Personal cloning to replicate ourselves so we can truly multitask.

The Cause Finder - every effect could be traced back to its cause. What would we find as the first cause?

Calorie free food that actually tastes good - and junk food that is good for you.

A politician that actually puts the people first.

    An inexpensive lawyer.

Okay, I'm just being silly now. Those last two items are obviously unrealistic.

This. Teleportation. That would change the game outrageously.

We have these, actually. You can get liquid flavourings at many organic food stores where a single drop contains less than a hundredth of a calorie, and is sufficient to flavour a pint of 100% calorie-free water.

As far as junk food that is good for you, I buy a high-quality boutique protein powder from Biotest which packs 60 grams of micellar casein and hardly any carb content, but tastes like a milkshake. And not a gross, mediciney, vitamin-flavoured milkshake like Muscle Milk either.

Are these flavorings artificially sweetened? I can't stand the taste of artificial sweeteners.

...but I was thinking more along the lines of ice cream, chips, Hostess Cupcakes, etc.

At my previous job, I had to talk to a lot of people, so I ended up talking about a lot of stuff other than work. It was pretty cool, because I'd meet people from all walks of life.
There was an incident where I met someone working for the government. He worked for NASA and he told me that they had a plane, not big enough to hold passengers just yet, that could go from Los Angeles to New York in 17 minutes. He told me that their timetable for being able to get passengers inside was 20 years. That would be ridiculous.
    17 mins.... no jetlag

Anything that would allow me to live as long as I wish. I know I'd like at least a few hundred years more. Things are just getting interesting at the end of my fifth decade. I've maybe done 1/2 of 1% of the things I'd like to do.

Understanding men! thats not so hard! I suppose they are simpler to understand than us females! ACCEPTING THEM! That can also be done! Perhaps we will get better at it in years to come!
Technology will always be advancing. Sure they will come up with something more exciting than email, just a matter of time.
