    An amazing amount of political stuff in this section, considering none is supposed to be here. When I get finished with the article I'm working on, I may just make the time to clean it up. Or I may just start banning the people I know are familiar with the rule. Especially since it's started creeping from here into main discussion.

    I pass out rope, and y'all make nooses. I guess I didn't expect anything else, but you can hope, right?

      I decided to just delete the stuff for now.

      Those of you who've been here a while know better. A few, despite that, have even taken to posting political comments in threads in main discussion. Understand, that's not going to get much tolerance. Not for folks that've been warned repeatedly.

      That, by the way, is what got me looking in here again.

      For those of you who're new, please read the sticky post at the top of this section. Or just the title, as it pretty much says it all.

      Before you ask, we don't care what sort of politics or what religion you espouse. That's none of our business. It's ALL off limits here. The problem is that it inevitably turns nasty. Leave the discussions go long enough, and the usual suspects turn it into a partisan hatefest.

        I went and deleted all of my comments in said threads before they were deleted. Now, I don't think the comments I was making were political (but maybe they were). I can honestly say that I didn't see my comments as promoting any kind of agenda or whatever, but...

        Rather than add fuel to the fire, I thought it prudent to undo as much damage as I could.

        Thanks for the reminder, because I was figuring it was one of those things where more leeway was being given than ever before, and that led me to err in my judgment. That's an explanation, not an excuse.

        Anyway, I will happily go back to reporting political and religious threads as I used to. My thinking is that the mods can decide once they see it in the moderation queue.

          Nope. I just got so sick of it that I wanted to see if leaving it alone would have a different result. Clearly, the definition of insanity still applies...
