Foreign Language Website Craziness

I am temporarily not in the USA. Many big name sites that I visit - Google, Adobe, Microsoft, etc. apparently read my IP address and present their page in the local language which I can't read.

In some cases it's fairly easy to find the English button but in many cases it's not or even if I choose English it doesn't "stick".

While this is awfully convenient for local users, it's a total pain for me. Outside using a proxy or some other get up are there other ways to change this?

Thanks for any input,
Mark

If you are using Firefox, you can install an addon called "always '.com'", which adds the "google.com in English" engine to your search engines tab. Just google for: always ".com" - Google.com (in English) , and install the addon

As for Microsoft Office, Adobe, Windows... the Lord be with you X_x
