OFF TOPIC

Sitting in a hospital room late at night, waiting for my father to pass away... certainly not one of the easiest things I've ever done.

Ah, well, that's life...

  I don't know you and vice versa, but I know what it is like to go thru this. Both my parents left within one year of each other. I went thru a near death experience myself and this is the closest as I have read to what I experienced. I only say this to wish you peace and some comfort at a time such as this.

I'm sorry, Ken. My condolences to you and your family. I'm glad you got to be there though. I was racing against time from Wisconsin to Iowa to say goodbye to my dad, but ended up being an hour or so too late. Always wished I could have been there.

Hi Ken,
My Daddy passed away a few years ago. He was a real fighter both in the physical sense and emotionally. He died of lung cancer at home and I was not there. My grandmother died shortly after I think she waited for me as after I went and sat with her for half an hr I said it is ok Grandma you can go now and she did.

I am with you and your family in thought and prayer I am sorry you are experiencing the end of your Dad but the memories are only a thought away

  I'm sorry to hear about your lose Ken.
  I was home recovering from surgery when my father died and it bothered me for a long time that I wasn't with him at the end.
  When my wife died, I was at her side holding her hand.
  Though both deaths where hard to handle, being with my wife when she passed somehow gave me a little extra strength with dealing with it all.
