I just came across this.

    It was down graded to a 7.2 -- and it was at 87 km deep so it was two or three times deeper than they've been running. The one in Loyalty Islands earlier this month was only 9 km deep.

    So far for the year we're running a tad high for 7 mag quakes but they are borderline - 7.0 and if you realized how many 6.9 mags there are usually it's not all that abnormal yet. Most are still running at 35 km deep so the crust is still shifting. We're inside of a magnetic pole shift so that's what happens.

    On the lighter side, we are way low for 6 mag quakes this year so far. Just remember this if it makes you able to sleep at night..........

    Quakes have always been around but people didn't move en mass unto major fault lines and subduction zones. If you're gonna live on a quake zone...expect quakes.
