I am finding that the sites that work best are simple and bare-minimum (talking about graphics, not clothes), just text for ads (no images), no slideshows.

    Hi T,
What niche are you referring to. I just switched my sales page from high impact graphics to none and conversion has gone to Nil in the past 2 days.

Couldn't agree more. All of my highest converting sites use one of these mimimal wordpress themes:

Simple, but not too simple either. A lot of IMers are still taking the original default template from Wordpress, and create a marketing site. I think that is simple but can also be a turnoff for some people.

How about this, simple but attractive!

    Hi T,
O.K. I gotcha. It always comes down to testing but that is interesting. You would think in a high end niche you would want to be wowed even more.

    Good post man
    cheers

I think it can also depend on your hosting. You can't make a Cadillac run too well w/ a lawnmower engine. Many people are putting up these process intensive wordpress sites on the cheapest hosting they can find. Then they wonder why they're not converting.
