James horner's compositions for avatar. I've always loved music like that. The bioluminescence of night is the best out of those. As well as the song I see you. On a darker note, the soundtrack from Queen of the damned was also good

but then again I love listening to opera and gothic opera (

don't laugh)

For an orignal score it's a toss up between Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. Danny Elman's score for Planet of the Apes was good, too.

For a soundtrack that uses existing songs, I think The Royal Tannenbaums had the best soundtrack (though I didn't care for the movie).

Many years ago, there was a popular movie I think called either "The Legend of Zanadu" or just "Zanadu" with a tune of that name.

I LOVE that tune. Can't remember if the movie had any other soundtracks.

Another was the theme from the movie, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." with Clint Eastwood.

Great classics.

Another was "Gypsy" with Natalie Wood. Great tunes, especially her strip theme "Let Me Entertain You".
