We Evolved From Monkees?

OFF TOPIC

I'm very confused by this theory. How could we have evolved from them? First of all how would that explain all the people who were around before the Monkees' emergence in the 1960's? Is it some kind of looping time warp or what? I guess you really have to be a believer to accept that:

If we had evolved from The Monkees, then my generation would most certainly have come equipped with better taste in music - and better songwriting talent.

So that's pretty much proof positive that we didn't
