Hi, i want to start out by saying im dipping my toes into this IM water. Marketing is my dream job, and after looking about marketing sites online i got this. Now i have been reading for about 5 hrs now and im very intrigued, yet confused. I didnt want to post this because i dont want to be hated, but i feel like this is a great opportunity to ask people that have made real money from this. Now i have read in a fellow users blog that they hate people using this to make ends meet, i want to say that i am not that way. I make a decent income now, but strive to make more and this sounds very intriguing to me. So now that introductions are done here come the questions.

From what i have read, many of u make money online by writing reviews and promoting products on your websites. What confuses me is
-how do you get people to veiw your website?
- how can you make a website stand out, someone said they made a review website, yet how is that unique when there are plenty of sites such as cnet, and yelp?

secondly, how do you make a product? everyone says they make a high quality product but no one ever says what it is, or how they came up with it. I have many ideas for products, but no clue how to get them in motion.

Hopefully i havnt wasted any of your time, and if this is ignored ill understand, but i really feel like this is something i would like. Especially since im working on majoring in marketing.

    First off, WELCOME!

And I want you to avoid one of the biggest things that trip people up, and that is BEING OVERWHELMED!

Don't try to take in everything at once. Start with a few things at a time because pretty soon you will become too overwhelmed and you will want to quit. DONT DO THAT

Now, as far as information products go, they can be a number of things.

What most people create is videos, or eBooks and turn it into a "training course". I launched a product back in November with a partner and it was a Microsoft Excel Training course and we were able to sell it for $397 a pop.

It was basically a video training product that showed them how to do each thing step by step.

Whatever you want to market, you CAN! Find a market that is hungry and spending money already. Locate prospects that are already searching for solutions as well..

First of all, welcome! There is nothing to be uneasy about if you are an honest business person, so any negative concepts that you or people you know have about IM are simply results of scam artists giving the rest of us a bad name.

There are people who ruin things for the majority EVERYWHERE you look, not just IM.

Second of all, the great thing about marketing online is that you don't need your own product!

A LOT of people that I know personally that are making money online started off with affiliate marketing (which basically is just selling other people's products in exchange for a commission.)

You get people to view your site by driving "traffic" that is interested in your niche. This is referred to as targeted traffic. There are many ways to do this, both free and paid.

Luckily, there is also a ton of info on the warrior forum about all of this stuff.

I suggest starting off with building an email list. It's probably the easiest way to make money online and you can make anywhere from a few hundred extra dollars to a fortune if you are so inclined.

There are also several ways to set up a list but in a nutshell, this is basically how it works:

Find a niche (dog training, golf, make money, lose weight) and either find an offer on clickbank to promote, or create a free offer (or pay someone to make it for you.)

Then create a squeeze page that will have a short, hard hitting sales message on it and an opt-in form for capturing emails. This page will redirect sign ups to the clickbank offer you are promoting, or if you are just getting leads, send them to a thankyou page.

If they end up buying the clickbank product, you get an affiliate commission (amount varies) and a sign up to your email list.

You send traffic to your squeeze with methods like article marketing, youtube marketing, solo ads etc. (there is a lot of info on all these areas here on the warrior forum)

Once you have built up a decent list you can start sending affiliate offers straight to your prospects' emails so basically you are able to make money by pushing a button at that point.

There's a lot more to it than that, and it's easier said than done (although not too much)

I recommend finding all the info out on this forum for free by reading threads on list building. It was the first way I ever made money online and it's still the easiest in my opinion.

Take a look in the WSO for free reports and products from other warriors before you go spending any money on the "newest system" or product or coaching or whatever. There are tons of valuable resources right here, for free!

Do your homework and keep at it and you are bound to succeed!

thanks so much you guys for the advice. few questions, do niches have to be something i need to know? or could it be simply something i research then compile into a small website/blog. and im still a little confused as to how to drive traffic. i run a short scenario. I know how to dj to an extent, and learning rapidly (this is something i love to do, not much money in it though). So lets say thats what i want to make, some courses on how to dj, and maybe reviews of certain products. So i set up a website. How do i get people to view my website instead of djbooth or a youtube review?

secondly, when i write a review, do many of you know the product you report on a personal level? Or is it acceptable to read reviews and condense them to one review?

thanks again, i feel like im asking for alot, but im really excited about this.
