how does this even happen?

Cleveland police say a man picking up his 3-year-old grandson from day care was given the wrong child and didn't realize the mistake until he got the boy home. WEWS-TV reports that when that child's mother came to pick up her son, staffers at the Fatima Family Center knew something was wrong. By that time, the grandfather was on his way back with the boy.
The day care is operated by Catholic Charities Community Services. Executive Director Bernadette Washington released a statement saying her organization would review its procedures and make sure the staff understands how to release a child to the proper person.
Washington also told WJW-TV the two children on Thursday were safe with their right relatives within a half-hour of the mix-up.
No charges have been filed.


At three years old?? Anybody not know what their grandkid looks like?
Kid goes with anyone? WTF is wrong with people??

    The grandfather may have been practically FORCED by another to pick up the kid without even having seen him, EVER, who knows!?!?!? People have tried to put ME in similar situations. HECK, one time, I was asked to visit a person's husband, in a mental ward. I didn't know what he looked like, or what he was like. I went only to be nice.

    You never know WHAT the kid was led to believe, etc... I mean I have been told some whoppers around those lines. The kid may ALSO have been asleep, or VERY tired. He may have been told, in a sort of mistaken half truth, that the grandfather was a friend of the family or relative that would take him to his mother. WHO KNOWS.

    But this DOES show how careless the world has become. Like the unaccompanied minors at airports. I mean they don't have good records, don't track them well, don't handle delays well to ANY degree. So what happens to the kid?

    Well why in Gods name did the childcare peple let the child go away with someone who he did not know!!! It must have been obvious that there was soemthing wrong. Kids know their own relatives even at a tender age.
