I gotta say Warriors, I LOVE it when someone clicks on the "Thanks" button on a post I make, especially if I put some thought and effort into my post. Why? Well, maybe I just like having my huge ego fed. I can't deny it's gratifying to have a fellow Warrior say "Thank You" for a post I made (especially if it's a Warrior who I know well and respect). It makes me feel like I did something useful for someone.

The reason I'm saying this, however, is because I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way. I know there are many, many posts out there that deserve thanks but get little or none for whatever reason.

I'm making this post as a plea to all Warriors, ESPECIALLY well known Warriors, to thank other Warriors for posts they make as often as you can. It costs nothing and takes only a second of your time. I personally can't think of any better motivation to keep trying to make high quality posts than knowing that my fellow Warriors will thank me for my efforts.

So, if you see someone put some effort into a post they make, or make a joke that makes you laugh, be sure to thank them. You never know when something as simple as saying "Thank You" can make someone else's day.

Thanks for reading, you're the best.

Joshua

Thanks Joshua. I don't use the thanks button nearly as much as I'd like to because sometimes I feel exposed when my name is there under a post. Like who am I to be there. I know that is silly but it is what it is.

When I do use thanks, it is usually because I agree strongly with what someone has said but I have nothing useful to add to the OP and would be wasting space by making a new post.

So maybe I need to reconsider how I am using the thanks button. I will still use it to signify agreement without further comment from me. But I will also start using it when I find a post simply useful.

And I find a lot of useful posts here.

I have found that when you get thanks it motivates you to do more and provide value.

At least that was the case with me when I was a newbie

EDIT: Oh and I hit that thanks button just so you know

I think you Jedi mind tricked me, I could not not push the thanks button.

I hope Bill Platt reads this, I often hear him complain that the ' thanks' quota is way too much....

Good point though gratitude is an underdone virtue.

I'm guessing you find it better to receive than give, judging by you only giving 18 thanks out yourself, with about half of them on this very thread.

Not at all. I just try to contribute useful posts to this forum as often as I can. But you're right, I do need to try to thank people more often.
