Well, I actually loved the song.

All the people who gave it a thumbs down, I'd like to see them write
    something better.

Let me put it this way.

I've been writing songs for over 30 years now.

I wish to God that I had written that.

    I wouldn't be peddling $47 ebooks online.

    It's easy to criticize.

    It's tough to do better.

Rock on Rebecca...That was super cool in my book.

    That sounds totally fake.

And for Justin Bieber. And for....

Haters are going to hate. The funny thing is that it says more about the hater than they realize.

If somebody doesn't like a song, fine. But to make threats and wish them dead is sad. Really, really sad. (Threats haven't happened in theis thread yet, but I have seen them in other threads).

Why is he a moron? Every time I've seen him give an interview he seems well-spoken to me. He's even willing to poke fun at himself.

He's 17, and I would say heartbreak is not a foreign concept to teenagers. Furthermore, he grew up with his single mother in low-income housing, so it's not like he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Not knowing the facts doesn't make you a moron, but it does make one ignorant.

What's sad is that some of the people taking shots at these kids (and I am in no way, shape or form a JB or Rebecca Black fan) are people who are 2, 3, 4 times their age. I thought adults were supposed to set an example for young people.

That's not to say that you have to be all "Hey Rebecca, great song!" or that you can't have a negative opinon on it, but cut 'em some slack, they're still kids. I'd like to hear some of the songs these critics would've written when they were 13 or 16 or whatever.

The thing is with JB is that he's been cast into the world of the celebrity too soon and he's handling quite well for a kid. Yes he makes a d**k of himself on the odd occassion but tell me no-one else has done that in their life.

Yes people should lay off him but this is a democracy isn't it?

It is obviously auto-tuned, as are a lot of hit songs nowadays. She and her creative team intelligently used available resources and created a viral hit that is turning out lucratively for her. My wife who used to be a professional singer (never autotuned, lol) and sings better than most pop stars, had no problem with it; in fact she kind of liked it. I personally am a little befuddled at the vitriol directed at this child over a harmless video.

Hostility should only be directed at deserving targets. It's not like this girl started an unnecessary war or that she's making fortune as a war profiteer or something destructive.

I like how this post went from the girl to Justin Bieber. And how many fans he has to take up his defense. Worst singer, but funny is William Hung and the worst song, but somehow catchy is "Mmmm Mmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmm," by the Crash Test Dummies. She's not that bad. This is a straight pop song for the kids and teens of the world. I guarantee there'll be a few moms with this playing on their car when the kids aren't around. Maybe even some guys too. Everyone knows that guys all have that song they don't want anyone to know about, but it's one of their guilty pleasures. It's all opinion anyway.

So, trying to be nice to people is "political correctness"?

      Wishing people dead is okay?

Anybody who thinks wishing death on somebody because they sing a song they don't like is an idiot. How's that for a simple criticism?

If it were just "simple criticism", I'd agree with you, but there were people wishing death upon her, telling her to kill herself, etc. She's a kid who made a bad song. I'd say "extreme hatred" sounds about right to me.

And how would you feel if I wished death on you like they are on her?

Would you just 'shrugg it off' like you are telling her to do? Or would it affect you in some way?

I agree Steven, I just wanted to point out that I have no problem with the OP. Chris was simply stating an opinion, and I didn't see any hatred in it. Just an opinion, maybe even in a tongue-in-cheek way.

There's nothing wrong with that. But a few of the comments (as well as some of the Thanks given) sort of surprised me. Though I shouldn't be surprised by anything in this day and age, especially in the Off-Topic section.

        But...that's just my opinion.

Rebecca's song isn't even close to being the worst song in history. She does have a good voice. And, she handled the pressure like a true star. For some reason people think they can say anything they like on the 'Net. (And they're the true losers.)

I mean she went from just a regular kid, to overnight sensation, with a million haters... some of which telling her to kill herself, and telling her that she's a piece of crap.

For anyone, no matter there age, to be able to handle it like she did, and to ignore all the hate, is an accomplishment.

And to be honest with you all, 83 million views is a lot of money. How many of you wouldn't have posted that video? I betcha that the biggest haters would have still posted that video if they could have

I was just kidding. I love thriller I was just trying to see if I could piss a bunch of people off and get their attention to say "DONATE TO KIM"!!!!!!

Ps. That was one experiment that failed... do about 5 experiments a day and you will have alot of success.

I'm not sure what the big deal is about the Friday song. Really?? How is this song any worse (or any better) than any other teen pop song out there?

William Hung, is the singer I hate. He only sings not to inspire us but to have noise. Just my opinion!

Love or hate Rebecca Black, she has accomplished in one hit what we are all trying to do and all she did was sing a crappy song.

    NO!

The worst song in history was back in the early 80's when the television
show Real People was on. There was an elderly lady singing and I recall
    her only having one line...

A woman in love... A woman in love... A woman in love... A woman in...

You get it. I remember it well as a little kid because my mom at that time
    said she loved it. LOL!

If anyone could get me a link to that video, I'd owe you big time!

No. really. It has to be a dead heat between 'Ebony & Ivory ' and 'Say, Say, Say'

Both proof that some idiot shot the wrong Beatle.

Worst bad song in history is not in the list. If there would be Justin bieber on the list, then i will vote for it!
