Technology: Time Saver or Time Slave Master?

Is technology giving you more time to rest, relax and spend with your family, like experts promised it would 30 years ago when it started?

Is it just giving you more time to do more work?

Which category do you fall in?

    I think for many people it provides more business without much accomplished in the end.

    I may be alone in thinking this but the technical ability to be "in touch" constantly with other people is not something I see as a positive.

    If the experts think technology started just 30 years ago, then they ain't experts.
    Technology started around the time cavemen discovered fire.

      I agree. But the kind of technology I refer to (personal computers) only came into the hands of the general public about 30 years ago. Until then it was mostly in the hands of businesses or the well off, for the most part.

    Today's "technology" is amazing and something we probably take for granted.

    Simply having so much information at our fingertips is something people couldn't do 20+ years ago. I feel lucky to be around at this moment in time.

        This is a little different now. Back then the printing press wasn't in the hands of the general public, teens didn't use it while they drove cars and it didn't replace human interaction like technology tends to do now.

          My point is whatever the current technology is it is always more impressive then the previous technologies it replaced.
          I bet when books became available to the public, storytellers freaked
